Hi folks
Couldn't resist and ordered some kullu beans and other landrace from khalifa and indianlandraceexchange.
On the ace side the outdoor harvesttime should be nov/dec. Is that the estimated harvest time in europe/spain?
When i read through the articel about north india on the indianlandraceexchange homepage they say kullu is highland sativa with harvesttime before the snow about oct/nov. So could we be lucky and the kullu has the potential to get ripe outdoors in non tropical latitude?

Hello chilliwilli,
I think the stated harvest times are for Spanish latitudes. At 48° in Europe, the length of the night on October is not the problem, but the length of the night in July to September is. She (Kullu) won't start flowering in time outdoors to finish before the winter, as such a long flowering strain. Maybe with light deprivation or a heated greenhouse and additional lighting. Not a lot of sunshine in Europe at 48° through most parts of November and December...

Yes your right. Think is a 2h plus in july compared to manali.
Do u think they would start to flower in their natural enviroment around july? Should be 20 weeks till end of season.

Southern Europe sativa, sativa hybrids late October,November if a strain/pheno prolonges flowering time .
From my limited experience with outdoors

Hi chilliwilli,

Thanks for supporting the indian landrace releases on our website, much appreciated.

The outdoor harvest times stated in the official strain descriptions on our website are stated for 37ºN latitude, genetics will take longer to finish at your 48ºN latitude.

North Indian strains like Khalifa's Kullu, or the North Indians Red Stem, Tosh, Urgam and Wailing or the Kashmir strains like Baramulla, Neelum and Lolab from Indian Landrace Exchange are the most suitable ones to grow in non tropical latitudes, although at your latitude probably Lolab and Neelum are the right choices, or other fast flowering and cold resistant strains like ErdPurt, Pakistan Chitral Kush, ErdPurt x PCK.
Autoflowering strains like Auto Malawi x NL or Auto Zamaldelica also would be great choices for outdoor growing at your latitude.

Hope it helps. Best regards, dubi

Thx for the reply. Was dreaming a little. When i grow the kulu i will dev try some clones outdoor to make sure, maybe one or two early flowering individuals turn up.
But i think will also try to outcross the kulu with the kali china to tame her a little.
