Indoor temps question

Hey IC,

When I measure the temperature of my room at the soil it reads 81-83 which I figure is about the top range of where I want to be, but if I measure the temp at the top part of the tallest plants I get about 97.

I'm unsure whether or not this is something I should fix. When people say the ideal temp range is between 77-81 do they mean the overall average temp of the whole room, or do they mean the highest temp anywhere in the system? I couldn't possibly hook up anymore fans, my plants are already billowing in the wind like it's in some kind of small scale hurricane.

Your thoughts?

Hi t33to, it's normal you have the highest temperature at the top of room, this follow the basical physical laws. Probably people mean 77-81 is the overall average temp of the whole room. 94 is very high, but i think that is only temperature peak of grow room anyway don't have fixation for the temperature, you should look the plants and if they need some fert and have some problems, bye man!

I would be freaking out if it were 97° at canopy level. Low 80's is tops I want it to be where there is foliage. If you don't have an air conditioner, you need one.

That's basically what I was thinking. They don't look heat stressed or dry, a bit pale maybe which I've already attempted to correct with more fert. Thanks I'll just keep an eye o them and see how they do.

They may also be a bit poisoned from my sulphur burner in there. I think I've had it on for too long but hate molds and mildews so I usually give em a good burn at the beginning.

Thanks!

I just had a mini split 3ton installed. Doesn't seem to work well enough for 16 x 600w with ballasts in the room. It's currently heat wave temps out here right now. Ugh.

If you have 97°F constant on the top you need air conditioner but if it is only a detected value, don't think it! The best way is to buy an air conditioner but you should look some posts to make homemade air cooler, bye

Check AC Sticky in Growroom Designs and Equip Forum. For 16 600w you need about 4+tons. -granger
