Indoor Soil Problem,, Could Use Opinions Please

Hello folks,

Thanks you for such a great community I am a new member and hope I can help and be helped as well.

Like I said I have a bit of a problem with my plants at the moment and I'm not sure if they are going to pull through I would appreciate a second or several second opinions from some of you with experiance in soil cultivation etc...

Here are my stats and the problem discription:

Indoor Soil (Fox Farms Ocean W/20% Perlite added)

3 Gallon grow bags

600W HPS Sun Systems Air Cooled Hood Fully Functioning.

Light Placement is currently 12" - 16" off canopy

Oscillators running mild (gentle wiggling)

co2 with Digital PPM Monitor/Regulator (generally running between 1300 - 1500ppm

Ave Day Temp 80 - 86

Ave Night Temp 67 - 72

Ave Day Humidity 50 - 65

Ave Night Humidity 60 - 70

Good Ventalation periodically through out the day through (vent system
replacing air in 2 minutes in room).

Plant Stats,

A Few White Widow Clones for my own medical use. 14' - 16"

Tight Nodes Very Bushy (pruned week lower growth off)

3 1/2 - 4 weeks old Vegging under 18 / 6 HPS

Switched to 12/12 as I began to discover my problem.
two days ago,,,

So They are now in their second day of flowering 12/12

Tap water with a few drops of chlorine kill, not hard water decent spectrum I believe.

I fertilized with Pure Blend Pro Veg formula at a rate of 1 once per gallon
and Liquid Karma 2 teaspoons per gallon for the first time 6 days ago, This is the formula on the bottle for "mature vegatative growth", I believe that was my mistake, possibly I should have used the seedling cutting rate which is half once per gallon,,,,,,so ,, but I am new to Pure Blend Pro and just dove right in.... The room humidity has been in the low 50's,,and I have been running the lights a little hotter to accomidate the co2. So I fed the plants the same regimend 3 days ago,,,, so they got two doses at the mixture rate discribed above, approx 3 days appart.

Within the last 3 days the plants have the tips of their leaves pointing down and I am noticing what appears to be nut burn here and there on the largest top mature leaves this is on a couple of the plants here and there. The leaves are also becoming concave and starting to roll and twist a bit. They have stopped growth and look unhappy, Today I noticed that in the center of the plants, where the nodes release it appears to be very lime green, with the rest of the leaves being darker.

All I could think to do to remedy the problem was to water yesterday with straight water,, I watered heavy and cultivated the shit out of the soil.
I did my best to milk out much of the water in the bags so the plants weren't sitting in soggy diapers, lowered the room temps a bit and kicked on the dehumidifier because of all the watering (humidity shot way up) The dehunidifier is now on a timer with the same cycle as the lights. and currently running RH 55

My concern is I had just switched the plants to 12/12 when all this trauma started happening and I am concerned ,,, about the stress levels and health of these little girls they seem to be upset and hating me at the moment, will things staighten out is there anything I can do to get things back on track?
Is Pure Blen Pro this unforgiving ? do they stand a chance of making it through this, They were very strong before I nuted them and the burn is not everywhere maybe 10% - 20% of the leave structure. The burn is not bothering me as much as the drooping tips and concave twisting that is going on,, I realize a pictures will help emensly so I have enclosed a few.

Any suggestions would be appreciated and opinions welcomed,, At this point I am second guessing myself all the way around the merry go round.

I am also curious about crossing Hog with White Widow,
and any Hog Growing Tips or Info,, And has anyone ever heard of Blue Goo ?
I tried some the other day and loved it,
Thankx

You got yourself a little case of nute burn. The organic ferts wont do a lot of damage in that amount. Dont give them anymore ferts for at least a week, and see how they look. Do not make the mistake of continuing to soak the soil with water. The roots need air and this cant happen with the roots continually soaked. It will probably take a week to dry them out now. When they look better, give them a half dose and work your way up from there...

Thanks JJScorpio,

I have been reading your threads for awhile, I just finally joined up,,
I value your opinion, after the thourough watering I cultivated heavy, to get some air in ,,,,,, they seem to dry quickly in this set up,,Low RH,, but I will def do as you said and be patient with my next watering,,So you think these girls will pull out of this ok ?
will this damper my flowering? I was planning on easing into the Pure blend flower formula after a few more straight waterings,,,, at a much more diluted formula,, that stuff seems to be hot,, but Im not sure

Lucas says 15m/gallon is the strength to work up to, so go weaker then work up to that. IME they start to burn at 20m/gallon, but have heard of other folks going full strength eventually, don't know how they did it!

Like JJ said they will need some time to dry out, and be totally sure of it before watering again. Cultivating the soil was a good move on your part. They should be fine...they may look a little damaged on the old growth, but it's all good. Live and learn.

Its not going to hamper your flowering, just make sure that the pots lighten before you water again. The good thing with organic ferts is they do not do as much damage. Working the top soil is a good thing, but you need to get the bottom soil dryed out also. I did read through your earlier post and if you can get the temps down to 80, that would be better. Just ignore them for a few days and look at it like they have a case of poison ivy, lol. They will work through it. As a lesson from this, remember to ALWAYS start the ferts at half strength and work up to it. If you had overdone chemical ferts you would have been worse off............

a good way to determin how and when to water your plants here is a tip, take the plants when young and place the containers in sink or bathtub water untill it just starts to drain. ok now after water has stopped draining lift the container this is your full watered weight, when the pot is ready for another watering lift you'll notice when it's in need will feel light and empty. may take a few times to get it right but this is a proven method also when pot feels empty stick your finger into soil few inchs to be sure its dry.also another hint before ya plant in the desired container add extra drainage holes in bottom and hole's in sides of container for root aireation and soil drys faster also :)

i add few inchs 3-4 of perlite in the bottom of my pots then add soil ontop

Looks like burn...could have salt build up..pH?..a good pH & TDS meter is helpful here..
If so or not, a flush might be in order..I like to use a little Botanicare Clearex too in the first bucket of water to break up the salts..
With grow bags this may get messy..
The objective is to flush the soil with water until the soil ph is balanced, the salts are removed and nute levels have been diluted...
As always balance is best and too little nutes is better than too many and if pH isn't at a suitable level uptake in balance isn't achieved..
The downside to a flush is if you don't have good drainage then root rot becomes a factor.. :yoinks:
