Hey everyone, long time reader, first time asker.
Ive gone through everything a few times and i cant seem to find a question which is kinda close to mine.
Long story, been saving a few dollars every week for over a year now.
managed to save up 2.1k (ill use US dollars)
My big dreams when i first started thinking about doing this was pulling in 3-4 pound a harvest every 3-4 months and i was gonna be rich. I realize now that i was a real idiot to think that. Im gonna be extremely happy if i get a pound, but the more educated i get about this the more the weight comes down.
Basically when im ready (got about half my equipment in the closet) ill be using a 1.4 x 1.4 x 2 grow tent. which is basically 57" x 57" x 78"
growing in soil, going to try a scrog.
ive already brought a G8Led 450 (280 watt real power) with 2 Red bloom UFO's (72 watt real power each) thinking im gonna be winning by paying less power and G8led say this light equals a 800 watt HPS, after a few months i thought about it and realized there is no way in hell a 280 watt light is going to be equal to a 800 watt light. Now im thinking i may not have enough flower power.
G8led supposedly does a intense area of 3x4 foot, but the reason why ive opted to get a slightly larger tent is i may want to get bigger lights.
Because ive had the lights for about 8 months and have only tested them when i got them to ensure they were working i have no idea how well they will produce.
now im thinking of using 2 lights in there, the above and another
Ive been looking at HPS lights because i have no idea if i should get another led, im thinking 600w should do the trick. but i want to keep my watts at a max of 1100 p/h for everything. (lights, fans, extractor ....etc)
i thought cool, ill just get a digital hps ballast and i should be sweet.
had a look online and it says the digitals give off a interference so i thought hmm, okay ill save money outright and get a magnetic, then i saw that the average draw of a 600 watt is about 750 watts due to the ballast pull
after all the confusion ive caused, what im asking is
Digital ballasts, do they actual cause interference
NANOLUX DIGITAL 600 WATT H.P.S this is the ballast

What is the actual power draw for a magentic Ballast?
J.B LIGHTING 600 WATT H.P.S
http://www.easygrow.co.nz/lighting-kitsets/84-600-watt-hps-kitset-premium-shade-upgrade.html
should i down grade my plans from a 600 to a 400 or even 250
should i get another over priced, unproven LED (unproven to me anyway)
any help would be greatly appreciated
