Indiana

Indiana is solidly against any kind of legalization/de-criminalization. We are well-behind our neighbors, Illinois, Michigan and even Ohio. Not sure about Kentucky. Still, there's a lot of good weed here, and pretty good variety too, for an illegal state. The Ohio River Valley is a great climate for growing weed, at least in the summer and early fall. Supposedly the Bubblegum strain was first developed here. Whenever the topic comes, my friends and I agree- Indiana will be one of the LAST states to legalize/de-criminalize. I'd love to see people post some good news on the topic.

Yeah but they said the same about the lottery, and again about allowing gambling in Indiana. "No way - no chance you will ever see a casino in Indiana!" Right now Holcomb is hiding behind the federal schedule - like other states who can use to continue unjustifiable prohibition. If Indiana can ever get a bill out of committee and on the floor, the tax and farm revenue will allow it to pass. They did that and got the lottery passed, they did again to and get gambling passed. Just like those two they will include a fine print resolution allowing them to re-designate the targeted cash for the general fund. There are 11 cannabis bills filed so far in 2021 in the house and the senate; this year there is better support for HB1154 and it might even stand a chance of getting out of committee. People can rely on one core reality -- that Indiana HATES seeing IL, MI and OH raking tax money and they loose that money to those states. Never hurts that KY stays anti 'cause there's nothing Indiana likes more than baring giving the finger to KY. (smile)

Otherwise they have to do the CBD push, which turns into a medical push, which turns into a recreational push. Wasting time and lives and tax revenue just so the pansy Republicans can act foolish. How quickly they forgot that Indiana was the #1 state for hemp production for more years than prohibition has been keeping honest folks from valid, proven medicinal treatment.

At the same time Indiana growers are still producing outstanding new cultivars, the black market continues smiling, and the users still cannot get enough. And yeah - Bubble Gum came from Indiana (and I'm convinced I know from who), along with a few others which still remain active in the gene pool but not credited.

Thanks for that thoughtful post! You're right, nobody ever thought there would be legal gambling in Indiana either, but here we are. Pansy Republicans is right!

It's been a year since my first post. At least Michigan got their shit together, so I can go over there and get all kinds of goodies in a nice environment, and at good prices! Indiana is losing millions, but hey, gotta keep the Christian Conservatives happy, amiright?

Almost a year has gone by since the last posting on this thread, and nothing's changed. Except now the word is out, and ten times more Indiana stoners make the trek across the Indiana/Michigan border to buy $75-99 oz's every weekend. And more dispensaries are going in, right across the border, assuring consumers of good prices, service and products. When it comes to Cannabis, Indiana is like Alabama. Apologies to Alabama.
