I recently chatted with someone in Connecticut whose family has been in the same area farming since the mid 1800's. They said the growing season has been extended for about 1 month consistently over the past few years. They can now grow more sativa dominant plants. I'm sure they'll be a year every so often where the frosts will come early like it used to but that's just nature and how it works in cycles.

and i read in the paper that al gore accused major oil companies of funding research to create (inaccurate)scientific data just to dispute the reality of global warming so people will stay in the dark and not consider how serious global warming actually is....and you know what? i think he is right.

as a sidenote: i know a woman who doesnt believe in global warming, i mean how can you not acknowledge this major climatic shift in the last 50-100 years?

Where I'm at, it's hotter than Satan's anus about 9 months out of the year. I just got in from outside. I think the heat index for today is 107, and don't forget the 85%+ humidity!

I don't grow, but if I did, and I kept my plants outside, I'm sure they would spontaneously burst into flames.

I have read a lot of reports about the amount of CO2 in the atmosphere causing global warming and they don't bother telling you that there are times in the earth's history when the CO2 levels have been much higher.

They also don't bother telling you that the earth, in its 6 billion year history, has gone through many heating and cooling cycles . Just 30 years ago, scientists were telling us that we were going into another ice age. While I am quite sure that all the crap we poor into the atmosphere has some effect, so does the the earths tilt on its axis, cow shit fermenting and my own personal case of flatulence. If you guys are really worried about global warming, send me money to change my diet and I will stop farting.

the whole solar system has been steadily warming since the 90s.....

if your plants are outside in that heat in pots then you really should dig those pots into the ground. leaves are ok with heat, but the roots like the much cooler dirt....

its been hot as hell here. i start my job tomorrow and i work outside. wonderrrful.

I heard that drinking warm water actually keeps your body temp down, or at a good level vs. cold water. gonna test that tomorrow

cold water will cool your body but your insides need to be at 98.6 so then if they cool down you will warm up to warm them up, and thus get hotter after trying to coll yourself off. i like my water room temp usually, but i love drinking hot yerba mate on a 95F day in the sun, or drinking room temp beer (ones you can do that with)

damn you're lucky, it's not very hot there at all...

if it doesn't get up to 120 or more, it's not hot

you guys must be kidding :nono:. to me, 100F (37.7C) seems lethal, i don't think it's ever been that hot where I live, usual summer temperature is 68-77F. anything over 80F happens perhaps twice a year, if that. i mean to me 120F seems ridiculous, that would be pure hell. imagine driving in that weather without an A/C :fsu:

btw, was the Knight Rider series based in AZ? how did Michael survive with his black leather jacket? i sure hope K.I.T.T. had an A/C although it might have been removed to install all the necessary buttons to call Devon ASAP

holy shit are you ****in kidding me??? 68 in the ****in summer!!!!! i can't believe it! anything under 70 is just freezing to me. i can't stand the winters and it doesn't even get under 60 where i live. well maybe occasionally in the middle of the night in the middle of winter it might get into the 50s but that's rare. normally temps are in the high 60s in the winter. and i still hate it. even though i live in an extremely hot climate, i prefer the hot summers over the winters just cuz i can't stand cold weather. but cold to me is probably very comfortable to most of you who live in other parts of the country/world

lol im thinking about buying a car right now that doesn't even have a/c, just cuz it's a sweet deal. but still, it's better than walking or riding a bike to work every day in the 110-120 degree weather like i am right now

I hear that UnerSame. I think the coldest it gets here during the dead of winter (at night) is probably 50, and I feel like I'm going to freeze to death.

When I lived in Dallas a few years back, it got a lot colder during winter (into the 20s in the coldest months at night), but it was balanced out by having no humidity and decent temperatures for about half the year (only the summers were hotter than hell...110 was not uncommon).

Thank you. I dont dispute the fact that the ice caps may be melting and the temps are getting warmer, however to say this is the first time it's happened and it's directly related to our actions can not be proven. Global warming is a theory, it's not fact, all the evidence you read only comes to the conclusion that "Yes, it's a bit warmer than it was last year".
