Ok I can't seem to find the right information on what I need an I been forum searching for a while now I have more theorethical knowledge then practical besides a few really bad attempts that were more experimental then anything ok my question is in a standard brick home (housing commission home) how would a grow room go in the roof of a house I know I read something about load bearing issues but is there ways to disperse weight evenly across the frames on the roof by using ply board or something along those lines proposed idea Is coco grow with no more then 4 plants for personall use only. Can someone point me to. A forum Page or thread that might give me some direction if not il stick to micro lol thanks to anyone in adcance :gday:

Are you thinking of building a structure on your roof to put an indoor room in or are you just going to put plants on your roof?

my grows are pretty small, but more than enough for personal.

they are all done in a triangular roof space that is only about 5ft tall at the apex.

your biggest potential problem is the high and low temps up there at different times of year.
i get round this by ducting air up from the house into the grow cabs

I noticed the extreme temp difference up there obviously due to insulation and theoretically you Could buy a small air conditioner an duct it up there but also the idea of lights on only during the night would work best in this situation due to the temps of 36degrees or higher and a tin roof exposed to full sunlight massive heat issues one hill at a time lol thanks for the response but the main question I ask is is weight going to be an issue or will I have to worry about have my roof collapse under weight while watching TV haha?

Put 3/4 inch plywood down. Never step between the beams or you will stick your foot through the ceiling below. I use to grow in an area like that in the winter time and used an oil filled portable radiator type heater.

In the summer I went to the basement. The oil burner guy never had to come for a visit in the summer.

So once the 3/4 inch think plywood is laid down over the spaces in which you can put your foot through it will create a even weight distribution allowing for plant medium and water weight yea?
Thanks wood and Tarzan my experience is purely experimental and theoretical so just want to confirm some ideas before putting in motion thanks

Yes! Many people lay down plywood and use this space for storage. Weight will not be an issue.

Ok so a quick off topic question where do I find a decent calculator to convert overall cab dimensions in cm into a rough sqft conversion or cubic ft? If that makes sense lol
