How long from "nanner" to pollen? Guess i overstressed a plant and my friend noticed a nanner tonight. But when chopping it and a few others that i was just tired of i noticed one randomly had 3 seeds. It was a clone that was way to far from the light, so it just stretched and didnt do much, but was under the one with nanners. I've yet to find anything else, but im not done cutting the nanner plant down or the rest of my crop. Looks like one seed may be viable. It'd be cool cause most of this weed's damn good...

but just curious because well, this nanner cant have been here more then a week, and it was a random plant that had seeds. Dont know if it decided to go godzilla to save its race, or got pollinated elsewhere. Just curious on thoughts and how long it takes a nanner to bust.

Thanks guys.

A hermie can produce pollen overnight and can ruin a garden. If you have one get it out of your garden as soon as possible. It is still smokable. The seeds will either be hermie like the parent or female.

Seeds wernt viable. I cut that sucker down last night, about 6 hrs after discovering the nanner. I only seen the one nanner too. I double checked all my plants and couldnt find any hermies or seed sacks full so i think i lucked out and the pollen just fell on that one plant from shaking or something? Well... not even that cause i wonder how long the nanners been there. I didnt think about it, but seeds dont grow over night... so even if the nanner showed up a week ago, pollinated the next day, 5-6 days for a seed to almost fully develop?

I dont breed for this reason... i hate thinking about all this stuff lol.

When I pollinate it is usually at the third week of flower. The seeds will take around five weeks to develop. Breeding is really simple. All you really need is a strong male and female and a fan. When you get better at it, you don't even need the fan.

But i want to learn selective pollination and such. Only pollinate the bottom buds. That and i gotta find strains i want to breed too lol.

I trimmed a plant tonight cause it wasnt agreeing with something and it was good enough. Ended up finding two viable seeds... SOO happy tho. Its smells and looks JUST like some Tangerine haze i've gotten from the guy i got the seeds from and i'd love to have that strain!

Thanks for the info guys. Im still confused on where all the pollen came from, i've only seen the one nanner, but maybe i just wasnt lookin hard enough.

Start out with finding some ideal males for breeding. Go with vigor, stretch, bug, mold resistance or whatever qualities you want in a male and flower him out. This should be in a seperate area away from the females. When he is going full bore

place him on a piece of plastic and give him a good shake. Pollen should fall onto the plastic. Remove the flowers and store the pollen in a vial or film cannister and keep in a cool dry place.
Find yourself a female and get started. You'll need three things.
Pollen
Plastic baggie w/ twistie tie
q-tip
Dip the q-tip in the pollen. You dont need to go overboard. Just a dab will do. Rub the pollen on the white pistils of a newly formed bud. After, place a baggie over the selected branch. Spray the plant down with some water to neutralize any rogue pollen and "Roberts you fathers uncle"
In five to six weeks you will see little seeds bursting through the calyx's like this

The seed should be dark and will have molting or "tiger stripes"

although some varieties will be only brown.
