Sorry but I have to ask...why are the images so limited here on IC Mag?

117k or 118k seems so small when we deal with Terrabytes now...is it perhaps a bandwidth thing? I have no clue but thought I would ask

Thanks for your time :tiphat:

there have been numerous complaints from the NSA, about the size of many pics submitted by members of this site, understand that many stoner' s would have harvested and smoked there plants in 6 months at best, so the photos of the growers plants are redundant after a year or so, this still causes serious overcrowding at the Kansas storage facility ....? lol

Same here. I can't upload any photos cause they are all to big! and going and resizing them before I post is just a pain in the ass! Why can't the site just automatically reduce the size to fit?

The max image size allowed on icmag is 250K, and that's for supporters. Realize that can be larger than 1600x1600 pixels, way bigger than most screens can display, esp. tablets and phones!
You're welcome to post your images elsewhere and embed them in your posts using this icon:

.

But all images are going to be resized by icmag one way or another. So there is no reason to upload hundreds of megs of images in one go when most of that storage is unnecessary, as is the extra bandwidth use.

You should be able to upload images up to 4mb and icmag will resize them down to your limits. But we don't recommend uploading images larger than that as it's just a waste.

I highly recommend NOT storing personal images (esp of cannabis) in the "cloud". You should always have a backup copy of your originals. Then you can resize copies for Internet use or sharing. Some programs will do batch resizing, making it less tedious.

Another tip: only post up your BEST shots, rather than everything you take. It might be some work deciding which are best, but better than forcing everyone viewing your multiple pics of the same thing. And if you're making decisions and resizing, you might as well EDIT the image by cropping, color correcting, etc. Then you end up with something great and your images will impress!
