that flip flop looks good.

You just have to plug them in and shouldn't need to splice or use adapters. If you have a sun systems ballast I think you will need to get the little adapter (around $10) which converts the 3 round into 2 round and a flat.

I can build you a flip for any style of ballasts. Sunlight or Hydrofarm lampcords and receptacles. If you're using digital ballasts, you'll need a second timer in the flip to turn power off and on for the digital ballasts, a couple minues before and after the flip. If you have magnetic ballasts with standard NEMA 5-15 lampcords and receptacles, that's easy to build. All my flips have an internal fan to keep the flip cool. The enclosures for my units are NEMA rated, not some sheet-metal box. All wiring and relays is rated for 600V/20A The digital AUBE T1033 timer I use is great. If you wanna know more send me a PM. You can see some of the units I've built here in my gallery.

Best Regards

btw. does it matter if i run 120 or 240 for the box? like is it universal? im pretty sure it is but i want to double check. im going to use a 30 amp relay converter that plugs into the dryer.

I don't get the point with flip flop boxes. I do see a point in having to flower rooms. 1 on from midnight to noon and the 2nd from noon to midnight, but why get a flipflop box at 500$ when you can get 4 ballasts for less?
Mae by I'm missing something???

Hey db2004. I got a a few free 20 amp circuits from a subpanel i had put in and i am in desperate need of a flip/flop for 2 blue digital 600watt lumatek ballasts with 4 lights. I am new to these and do not want to build one the wrong way! if you could reply or e-mail me at.... with and idea of price for somethin like that. and also could you let me know what type of mods (if any) i will have to do to the ballast/lamp cords if i use a flip/flop? thx

Oh and samba when u have a flip/flop it also reduces the spike in the electricity (igniting of the ballasts i believe). just what ive heard.

4 1000 watt ballast is a little over 1000. & u would need 2 30 amp converters. which means more wiring that a nub like me doesn't know how to do. electricians are expensive. any more reasons y to use flip flop instead of having xtra ballasts?
