I'm still in the closet

Anyway, I am very much a newb.
I have a small setup. A 2' x 4'5'' closet @ a friend's house- $25 a month for rent.
My nutrients are Advanced Nutrients Grow-Micro-Bloom, and bud blood. I have some other bloom boosters of theirs I will experiment with as well. When I get to the clones, I also have Botanicare's KIND system, to try as a free sample.
My veg area consists of 2x 4x2ft. T5 fixtures with a 4" exhaust fan at ~160 cfm, and a small fan in a 2' x 2' x 3' tent.
That setup sits underneath my Flowering table.
The table is 3'6" above the ground. Including the #5 pots they are in, this gives me about 4'6''- not a problem, as I only plan to grow 2' or so plants.
The table is 2' x 4', and fits 7 #5 pots, plus a #1 pot(first week in a perpetual harvest grow).
The flowering light is a 400 watt HPS, with easycool6 air-cooled hood hooked up to a large carbon filter, with 6'' blower at ~430 cfm.
I can hold my hand less than 6'' under the light while it is at full heat.
The carbon scrubber sits partially on my table, and is the reason I do not have space for 8 pots.
I have grown 1 autoflower to harvest- 1 plant, 10'' tall 6'' wide, under a t5 veg light, in a #1 pot gave me almost 1/2 oz dry, and it just finished curing.
Now, it is time to step up to the plate for real. While the auto was growing( didn't know it was an auto till it was blooming), I have grown- 3x KO Kush F2, 1x Princess Purp, and 1x fast nevilles to blooming size. I picked out a few males along the way( unfortunately eliminating hashberry). The Kush still have not been identified
All of these are 1' tall, having been severely pruned. They all have 4 shoots that I am focused on, the rest is extra, and may be removed for crowding issues
I have taken cuttings from each plant, and labeled them.
I am pretty sure that 1 of each plant has rooted, and I may take some extra kush cuttings in the next few days JIC.
I just fired up the HPS last night, I am slightly concerned about light leaks around the door. I will be buying a seal soon.
The autoflower is my model for this grow. I could have fit those 2 x 2 into a square foot, and that is what I intend to do with each of the 4 shoots I am concerned about. Serious topping, and pruning was required to get the desired results, but they are all even, and should develop equally. I am really hoping to get an average of 1.5 oz per week, but will be satisfied with 1 oz.
I have put 5 plants to bloom, 1-3 will be males and be removed.
After 2-5 weeks pass (depending on the # of males) I will add 1 plant per week. This will give me an initial harvest of several plants, and then I will harvest 1 plant per week thereafter, and add 1 plant.
Unfortunately, I will have to leave my ladies in the #1 vegging pot for the first week, due to space issues. Unless I get lucky enough for a 7 week flowering cycle.

First, as of your posting you were still around 3 hours short of 2 full days since posting. Just saying. And those two days have been a friday/saturday when a lot of people have crap going on and don't hop on here.

I read your post when you posted it but didn't reply because you mentioned you'd get pics up, and I figured I'd wait to see it first. Seems like you've got a pretty good handle on everything so far, and a good plan for the future. Good luck and keep us posted with updates.

I never thought about the weekend, I don't have weekends. Life is one long day.
I had come back, on my tablet which has my pics, and saw almost 30 views, got upset and didn't post them. I still don't have anything from the Flowering area yet, though.

This is the Pineapple punch auto, 3 days before harvest, as I was flushing the soil.
Then, we have my flowering booth.
Those are KO kush in the back, still unsure of the sex, they appear to all have calyx, but no hairs. I don't see any male genitalia, though.
front left is GDP, she is 3 months old. I kept her poorly maintained in a solo cup, for the first 8 weeks. She really took off after the move to a #1. I have topped her, thinned her out twice, and she is still bigger than the younger kush. She is also COVERED in preflowers, I can't get pictures of them...cheap camera. Very visible to the naked eye. Down in the tent is my widow. She is ready to take cuttings, but I will be waiting 4 weeks before I move her, so not yet.
And my ghetto cloning chamber. Those are 2 weeks ago, I believe.
When they were cut, and planted.
Solo cups half filled, a clear cup with drain hole, inside an opaque cup. This allows me to see how the roots are doing.

I sealed up the light leaks around the doorframe, so I am no longer worried about things going bad b/c of that.
I have a pretty big issue to fix though. Since I am flowering in the same room as vegging, I have to keep the light from the veg tent from leaking to the rest of the closet. I currently have it just sucking air out of the tent, no light comes through the fan. This causes the tent to suck in, decreasing the useable space. It also does not allow for enough air exchange, and with 1 of the 2 fixtures, my temps have been steady in the mid 80's. I need to figure out a way to get air into the tent, without letting light out.
Before I started 12/12, I had taken a panel off, giving it a window, which worked fine.
I am thinking about cutting holes in the bottom of the tent, to let air enter there.
That, or I will have to make a hole to put a piece of ducting through, and lead it out of the room, or into some kinda light filtering bucket.
Any suggestions for a material which would block out light, but still allow fairly uninhibited air flow?

Can you maybe open it up during the light time of 12/12, then close it for the dark? I kind of do that in my room... there's a window in the closet, so I have an exhaust fan blowing out that window during the light time, then I pull the blackout blanket over the window during the dark time. Not the BEST solution, I know, but it has worked so far. My ladies will be 5 weeks into flower tomorrow.

Well, I changed my light schedule for the veg, and is keeping temps under control...for now.
1 week into flower, and I still can't tell my kush plants apart. I still say they all look like they are females that haven't grown any hairs yet.
I definitely don't see anything male.
I have to repot tonight, I had 1 week in flower, I'm not pushing it any further and risking some severe shock, so hopefully they will id themselves tonight, or they will all end up female after I repot

I cut down all 3 kush, what are the odds? I got a 100% male rate on the pampered plants, and my 1 purp was abused for 2 months, and came out female, and alive.
I added a White Widow to the mix today, so that gives 2 plants at 2 weeks, and 1 at 0 weeks

Well, time for an update, I can't get a quality pic with that hps on, but the purp is budding up real nice, and very bushy. I expect ~ 2 oz from her, and I have a clone for a mother to keep her going.
The nevilles JUST put out pistils today.
The widow(youngest of all, and less than 1 week into 12/12) is putting out many pistils as well.
From left to right
X-Line Fast Nevilles, Dinafem White Widow, and a skippy dude exclusive- GDP crossed with ( I think) Purple Urkle.
The 2 big ones are at 2.5 weeks in, the widow in middle just went in on Wednesday.
They are in #5 pots, for a scale reference, btw

I guess, looking at the size of these ladies, that it is a good thing I didn't have an extra 3 plants
My kush RIP, would have caused some major crowding problems.
I will have to stake my colas next time, to keep them more under control.
And I will experiment defoliating just before 12/12, see how that works out for me.
We will be adding some clones in smaller scale to the room at a later date

This is the purps at 14 days. One of the smaller tips, actually.
My well laid plan turned into a f#@$ing bush, when it went to 12/12.
This was not a part of my well laid plan.
It took 6 shots to get a decent pic, then I forgot it was there.
This is supposed to be an indica dominant strain. The leaves, however; beg to differ.
It had a pretty low stretch, though. It is just about double its height, and growth has definitely switched over to bud development vs. plant development.

Upon some pondering, I have figured out where they went wrong.
A) They will need staked next round, to hold the branches in place, and
B) I need to prune the b!tches hard. On the next run (clones), We will prune away everything but the bare 4 colas I want, immediately before flowering starts.
Then, with 1 of them- after the stretch, it will be pruned to my specs.
We will also have to grow 1 with no pruning, and let it flower and grow in its natural form
I will do 1 in each manner, and compare yields against each other.
If any experienced grower has any input on pruning during flower ( ~ 16 days in), please chime in.
I hear it is bad to prune flowering plants, but I also hear it is bad to have overcrowded plants.
This lady has ( I think ) 12 growing tips, and takes up over 2 sq. ft. What I want is a plant with 4 growing tips to take 1 sq. ft.
With plants this big, the room will be @ capacity w/ 4 plants MAX. That is, using a perpetual cycle, so as to have some young, smaller plants, in addition to the ones in full bloom
