You can imagine my excitement when I ordered my L.S.D. seeds from gypsy, knowing that ive done orders with him before. I consider myself a loyal customer of his, and he's never let me down.

But this morning, i recieved a note from the UK customs. They seized my seeds. Im out money, and im severely dissapointed, especially because gypsy gives liability for such things to the purchaser. So he wont be replacing my order.

Im debating, because of this, to going to Dr. Chronic, or somebody else. I know its a chance occurance but not getting an email back, and having heard some stories about the customer service in that respect kind of makes me wonder how stealthy it really was.

Maybe Im just bitter. I understood the risk, but this just plain sucks.

In the 80's we used to " lose " about every third letter sent to SSSC when it was carbon paper and cash only. No money orders, no resends, no refunds, if you really wanted it you sent more money in and hoped it went thru. Not many choices back then.

Dr. Feel Good: I wont give Neg Rep, but please dont assume im new at this. Been growing a while, i started out papaya, white rhino, and hawaiin by mowie wowie. upgraded a bit to rom x blueberry and white skunk. Then i wanted to try a truly sweet strain. I didnt see lifesaver available so I went LSD. Deiseil to kick didnt sound half bad! And this grape krush looks magnificient!

Supernerd: Yeah, it happens. But I am undaunted.

Verite: I am doing pretty much that. I may even go for something better. LSD was just something id heard good things about.

I'm also curious about your order being seized by UK Customs. How intensely do they scrutinize outbound mail? I was under the impression that it was our stateside Customs agents we had to worry about....

bummer that sucks, i feel your pain though, i ordered some heavy duty fruity that never made it, but it didn't get discovered it just never came, so i was out $80 something....imo lsd isn't that good and u can find something way better.

i had a really fruity pheno in some strawberry coughs from DP, that was an awesome pheno and very potent also...the other pheno had less smell and less potency, mine were feminized, if you order a pack i'm sure you'd get that keeper pheno i'm talking about....check out my best tasting strain thread, there's alot of info in there for fruity/skunky/hashy/ect strains

Why would the UK customs confiscate seeds when seeds are legal in the UK? Isn't it rather the customs in whatever country you are in that intercepted the seeds? Gypsy's not to blame - nor any other seedbank - for what the customs do, and it's not for him to replace your seeds anymore than it is for your car manufacturer to replace your car if it gets stolen. If you're in a country where Cannabis seeds are illegal and you order some anyway, that's the risk you take. The various stealth methods used by seedbanks to ship the products are purely cosmetic. You may think what you like about customs but they're not complete idiots. They're quite able to find seeds hidden in a pen or a CD-case once they opened the shipment, what slows them down is the mass of shipments, so they have to sample. That's why stealth is more important on the outside (of the package) than the inside, it must be devoid of anything that arouses their suspicion. I believe I heard somewhere that one out of ten parcels get inspected by European customs, but a hard package from Afghanistan or Pakistan will of course attract more attention than let's say a flat envelope from Norway. When ordering seeds, order only small quantities (one pack or two). If they get nabbed, the loss is less and the crime as well. A very substantial seed order might push the customs to go further than just confiscating them. Alternate between different seedbanks (Gypsy won't like this) and preferably from different countries, so that no 'patterns' in your mail orders arouse suspicion. As sproutco said, order around Christmas time, when they get flooded with mail. August is another good month, that's when they're understaffed due to vacations, and lots of flat envelopes with tourist cards circulate. As Verite said, 10-15 years ago there was no internet or credit card payment. You put your money in an envelope and hoped for the best, or made the long trip to Amsterdam. Nowadays it's as professional as it can get, concidering what we're dealing with.
