It depends on the size of the growroom you're dealing with, but for under 4 sqft, that light would do well so long as you have a reflector. That or, hang it vertical and up your yeild significantly.

It could definitely provide for a personal supply if that's what you're looking for. CFL is also cooler running than HID bulbs (eg. hps), meaning less ventilation/cooling requirements.

What are your plans for the grow? Good luck!

thanks for the info man, i only have a little grow room so this hopefully te light will do its job.
i got 5 feminized seeds 3 the church, 2 trainwreck
can i go through the flowering stage with just the 125w cfl blue bulb or would i need to change to a red cfl bulb?
thanks

hello. It is perfect for vegetative ...

It will also work for flowering, the problem is ,
if you'll have 5 plants big or small that won't be really enough to get some 'yield'

you can go thru it no probs just I'm pretty sure you won't get over the 40-50 grams mark (and even that would be really OK for the first time with that light)

I'd advise you to get a 150w hps for flowering if you want to keep things simple and small.
Even better a 250w hps.

Or if you have access to another one of the cfl's that'd be 250w which is powerful enough to make a worthy yield.
The buds won't be as dense, and a bit more fluffy under those lights, HPS is really much better for flowering. Try to get one.
You're saying you have a small growroom, what dimensions?

Good luck.

You can use the blue one but the red would be better. If it was me I'd get A red one and run them both during flower. You really need more light in flower than you do in veg.

Should work well, I agree with aim-9 that you should try to get a 250 watt CFL for flower, if available. This, or whatever the biggest watt red bulb you can find is, will make a huge improvement over a single bulb. It's really hard to have too many lumens.

May I also suggest scrog or lst methods, as they lead to bigger and more consistent yeilds with the CFL bulb's lower canopy penetration. read this for detail on training methods

For vege, for sure, just apply sparingly (not full strength) starting at week 2-5 of vege usually. You'll need a bloom fert for flower too. Something with more P and K.

this maybe a dumb ass question but is horse manure any good for marijauna plants?

Hi

It can be a good bio N supply during vege (especially in outdoor) but you have to rest for organic compost and then mix in your substrate and prepare it several months before planting otherwise you risk burning your plant.

bye, enjoy++

^^ Hank nailed it, compost it first. You'll be glad you did. When you get ready to flower your girls, find a fert that has less nitrogen and more phosphorus and potassium. Look at the major brands, Fox Farm, Botanicare or General Hydroponics. Also search for any threads on the Lucas Formula, a tried and true way to get things done.

Yeah it's great as far as organic nutes go... I ran the whole biobizz line for 2 years SOG with 1800w and for outdoors too last season with really good results. I would really suggest investing in some sort of HID like atleast a 250w hps if you're trying to get any actual bud from this grow. I did my first 2 grows with a 250w and got like 6oz on my second grow in a small cab with 2 plants scrogged. 250's are perfect for starting out IMO.

I used both bio bloom and bio grow during flower at 10ml/gal each...start at 5ml/gallon in veg though and slowly bump it up to 10ml grow by the end of veg. I also used alg-a-mic at 5ml/gal through veg and until day 35 flower.

The problem with 125-250 watt CFL's is that they're exactly that, 125-250 watts. A 250 electronic (or even magnetic ballast) will eat the same electricity and gives higher lumen output, which is important for getting dense buds. The major difference is that in small places, HPS's are a bitch to cool/ventilate so if you think you can get that under control and keep proper temps I would go for it. You can only really gain from it. Unless, of course, you snagged a super cheap deal on the CFLs, in which case I'd say go for it.

Just go for a 4'' vortex and a small scrubber for exhaust... I never scrubbed my 250w but you should because you'll smell bud all throughout flower otherwise.
