Wow im kinda mad at myself for being a complete newb and only buy ONE kind of fem seed...like an idiot i mix and matched my first buy of beans.....5 bubblelicious from nirvana and i lost one seed during germ....it broke the shell with a mini tail but didnt grow...i also brought a voilator kush that REFUSES to pop after 2 days...so i tried to scuff it with a razor blade (bad ideal) i think i fucked it up...i also got a fem white russian that failed during seedling due to my ph and temp...so that leaves me with 2 free ufos (rocklock and lemon skunk) and 3 bubblelicious (got one growing)

Bah next time im sticking with just one strain...and im buying reg seeds....im thinking Dj Short Blueberry or NYCDiesel...regardless ive learn my lesson...NO MORE SINGLE SEEDS!

I am sure many disagree with me, but unless you have a noticeably thick hull or old seeds, I would skip all pregermination techniques like soaking in water/paper napkin. The only thing I would even consider (and I would skip this step as well most of the time) is LIGHTLY scuffing. Scuffing involves using a minimally abrassive surface like light grade sandpaper - not a knife or sharp point.

Planting directly into soil and making sure the soil is warm has been the most effective method for me since you don't have to worry about transplanting a shit load of seeds or damaging the taproot. Just barely cover the seed with soil, make sure the top remains moist (mist it or use a spoon to carefully dole out water) and put it on top of something that puts off heat like a cable box or computer.

Hope this helps and I would recommend going with cheaper genetics your first few times. There are plethora of cheap grabs that can be found at the seedbay ICmag auctions and stuff from mandala/nirvana is cheap and legit from the seedbotique.

The auctions aren't here, they are at www.seedbay.com If you go to the search there will be a section called ICmag fundraiser for the servers on something along those lines. Private Breeders from this forum do custom crosses and donate seeds and so do companies. A lot of the times the donated seeds are direct descendants or crosses of popular breeds at that time. Usually they are between 25-60 dollars for good genetics vs the 100+ you would pay for other ones.

If your seeds are old, mine are never more than a year old, I would only presoak them a maximum of 3-5 hours and with about 5-8% H202 (not the 30% stuff) to prevent thick/old husks from spawning bacteria or fungi.

Hey Dojo, I also just popped 5 Green House Seeds Fem'd Lemon Skunk and 5 Nirvana Seeds Fem'd Blue Mystic. I have a thread about how I germinated them but basically I just put them right into some expanded coco.

I used to have TERRIBLE results with the cracking/skuffing and soaking process. Perhaps it wasn't the retailer's fault but more of the grower's. I also had some DNA Genetics Sharks Breath and Cole Train. It's been 5 days and it doesn't look like the Cole Train will pop. All my other seeds were above surface in 96 hours. They basically cracked right away and got started growing, One of the Blue Mystics is working on it's second set of leaves and I planted it 5 days ago :).

My last grow was a DNA Genetics skunk give a way. Kandy Kush, OG18, LA Woman, Sleestack, and KushBerry. 12 seeds in total and only 3 of them actually grew. So I'm done with DNA and their seeds unless they are free. GHS and Nirvana both had good stuff that worked for me. Sorry you had such bad luck.

Seedbay also has auction of the seeds of established breeders.

Seed Boutique (and some other places) sell 5+ packs of seeds from established breeders. You should expect to pay anywhere from between $30 and $200 for 10 seeds. If you want some variety and don't want to mess around with males some companies (Green House Seeds and Paradise) offer 5 packs of mixed feminized seeds. The GHS mixed packs are color coded so that you know what you are planting. These 5 packs are usually around $50.

agreed my rocklock single didnt look the greatest and said 2000 on it. but germed no problem. also from the tube. soaked in water for like half a day and then planted. all good. also popped a blueberry from some bagseed from like 97-98 using same technique. had 5 blueberrys from the same sack and all germed great over the last 2yrs despite being 11-12yrs old.
