if your cab isn't air/light proof will it effect temps?

cab is being worked on, but vortex 4" is installed through the top, temps are at about 78 on average with just 1 - 30W CFL, so apparently something is wrong, I believe it must be that the cab isn't air proof or light proof.

it works with odor pretty well, I had painted the inside and it was smelling up the entire closet for a while, and then I turned on the fan and within minutes all smell from the paint was gone. I'm just having issues with temps.

What are your ambient temps,and what is the size of your passive intake(s)?

Temps in the cab will never be lower then the temp outside of the cab.

i don't have any passive intakes yet, i'm going to install an 8x8 (in.) darkroom vent this weekend, cab size is (2x2x4) ft., right now after 30 minutes, with a 250W aircooled MH, temps are at 78 or 80 and the guage is at the level of where the plants are

so then frsh air is only availavle through the cracks that haven't been sealed and this is why temps are 78 or 80F.Again what are your ambient temps.Ambient temps are the temps outside the grow box,so say your cab is in your bedroom or closet,whats the temp in your bedroom/closet?

Once you seal up all the cracks and install the darkroom vent temps should remain right where you want them.

yes, only fresh air availble is through cracks that haven't been sealed

i'll post ambient temps in a few minutes, (had sensor inside cab)
I keep my AC at 72-75 degrees so probably around there, and temps are starting to raise to about 82 degrees inside cab

temps in your cab mean nothing right now, cut your vents, then check temps...if ambient is 75 your probably good
