if you harvest early do trichs become cloudy?

so i had to harvest early, maybe by one or two weeks and i can see that there are mostly clear trichs with a few amber... I've smoked some freshly harvested buds and they're okay but don't really pack a punch like normal... If left for a couple months will potency increase or is all lost? thanks!

the plant is now dead bro. no longer producing resin. no longer taking in food or water no longer doing anything but drying.....No not gonna get cloudy now or really any more potent. it will cure which will help ya a little but not much....

I disagree about the potency thing.....technically no the thc won't go up...

But the high you feel isn't always directly related to the thc level...

I've read and watched alot of stuff on how all the cannabinoids interact with each other and that is what causes the different effects...

If certain cannabinoids degrade ect the effect you feel will change and from my experience it never gets weaker....always seems stronger even if in reality it isn't.

Also...I have also read that trich's do keep changing for a bit after you chop but I've never really noticed or even tried to find out so who knows if that is bullshit or not.

Hey :tiphat:

Just want to share some of my experience, when I harvest a medium-quality plant, and that the smoke & high is not enough for me, I just let it cure in a jar hidden somewhere around. Then I find the jar 3 or 4 months after, and I can tell you that it's not the same weed, smoke is a lot better and the high is more stoner.

I always been experiencing that curing makes your weed more potent, or strong.
I also tried to compare trichomes from a freshly harvested bud, then cured.
I see more amber glands when the bud is cured. I always thought that curing makes your buds mature a little. Correct me if I'm wrong :)

Peace :rasta:

Curing really matters to potency

Curing really matters to potency

In my experience with durban x NL F1 (and others), fresh picked budz aren't all that strong- yet a month later, following curing, they kick my ass. Despite all THC synthesis stopping, the subjective effects have always been dramatically better at least a month later. :dance013:

Groovy :)

the effect is even more pronounced 3 months after harvest (some people only smoke 1 year old cured stuff)

If you leave it they will eventually all turn red. I have noticed little difference in the power of the buzz from cured weed. The difference I notice is in the hang time. It is much longer on the cured herbs. Peace GS

By "hang time" do you mean duration of the buzz GS ?

Even after you chop the plant will continue to ripen. It will use as much of the life that's left in the plant for a few days...Curing will help allot for premature harvested buds.

the compounds take at least a week to start to turn fully psycoactive, bud is far better after a lil bit of a cure, then after a while its just flavour and smoothness your cureing for, imo that is.

I find quite the opposite. I love fresh nugs. More terpenes means more psychoactivity. I find the cure makes the buzz more stony than psychoactive. 4 day chopped nugs rock. Peace GS

ps. one of my faves is a 4 day chopped joint that you take to the flower room and rub the outside all over late flowering nugs of the same strain. It greases the paper nicely and adds flavor

GS I'm with with you, I like the buzz from fresh cut plants better usually. Seems like it hits harder in the head the fresher they are and then that goes to more body high as the buds cure.
