If you can spare a moment, Computer Networking?

Im looking into solutions for a proxy server I would like for a small business network of 10 computers. Ive been looking into MySQL Proxy but its still in a developmental stage, says not recommended for production use yet. Im also not a huge computer buff and the MySQL Proxy stuff was confusing all hell of me.

Anyone have any insight, info or know where to point me in the right direction?

Ultimate goal: Make it as hard as possible to trace an IP + MAC address or location.

From what I see there are web based and client download based proxy services. Id like the whole network in this office to be run through a proxy server. Seems like I may need a software/download based proxy to screen the whole network, and not just one particular browser. (we use IE, Firefox and Chrome)

I know nothing is truly untraceable but the added security measures protect both my clients and employees.

stay safe over the holidays! :smoker:

Dude mysql proxy has nothing to do with anonymity, its for the mysql databases. Safe from what? Safe from the feds snooping in on medical marijuana patients?

Seems im more misinformed as i thought, I was told by an acquaintance that using MySQL proxy could achieve the results I'm looking for.

If I need to state for the record, this has nothing to do with medical marijuana or illicit sales. I'm not hiding from the feds, ha. Just security measures. Any help, if you can, as it seems I'm not the most educated in this subject.

I'm not going to teach you myself....but all you need is the tor browser install it to a thumb drive and run it from there and you go everything you want plus pull the thumb out and it never existed.

Problem I'm hearing with tor is its so slow it would not be a feasible application for my office. Is this true? I have a VoIP phone system and cant have my network run slow or it will cause call quality trouble.

Thanks for your responses. Any other ideas to consider?

A proxy server is like a re-mailing service.

I send my order to the re-mailing service, they order the product and package it in a plain brown wrapper (minus the origination address) and ship it to me. My postal carrier (isp) only sees plain brown packages from a proxy/re-mailer service.

There are paid, encrypted proxy servers that you can buy an account on... or you can set up one of the many programs that harvest and cycle through multiple public proxy servers on the net already.

The paid services can rat you out regardless of their listed policies... we live in a police state with the KGB... err... I mean DHS pretending to 'Protect' us. The free proxies suffer the same problem as tor... slow to questionable access.

Unless you set up a couple computers on a few different networks you don't own.... and route all your traffic through them encrypted, just about everything you do on the net can be tracked.

It's a sick society we live in folks. Wake up to the police state this country really is. Freedom??? We have more people in prison per capita than any other country in the world.

Stay Safe! :D
