Iditarod Protests--WTF

I just saw on the news that a bunch of do-gooders are protesting the Iditarod (1100 mile Alaska sled dog race) ...protests in Washington DC.

I guess they are sayin' that its cruel and inhumane...they've been trying to say that for years....and that's a bunch of BULLSHIT. So now they want it stopped.

These motherfuckers have NEVER been around sled dogs in their life....or they woulden't be crying about it.

Sled dogs are bred to pull fukin' sleds...its the only thing that they want to do. I'd love ta see one of these crybabies try to keep a sled dog as a "lap-dog" house pet. They'd have him behind a sled in 2 days if they could.

Most dogs in the iditarod train every single day all year long to compete in that race, and they usually compete in quite a few other shorter ones as well...they are very well conditioned athletes. Its not like they are grabbing any 'ol dog and throwing them out there. These dogs know what they are doing, they are great at it, and they LOVE doing it. (probably more than can be said from these whiney pussies)

I lived 1/8 of a mile from Mitch Seavey the year before he won his first iditarod, and his dogs blew my mind. I saw them (and heard them) every single day, and even got to work with them. They pulled ATV's all summer long, they are super intelligent, and they def. tell ya if something is wrong. They are strong and driven, and very competitive. Why deny them what they love?

Dogs occasionally get hurt, but I bet no more than "housepets" on a percentage basis.

Sorry for the rant, but seein that sort of pissed me off....these peeps have got to be whining just to whine cuz it's a bunch of bullshit.

I had a sled dog once..the little bugger liked to pull everything. Just try and walk him on a leash..NO GO! You'll be screaming like a little bitch while he drags you through the village lol. And they do love it. Not a doubt in my mind..my dog was as happy as ever when pulling a sled. We had to keep him on a cow chain cause he broke all the rest. Eventually broke that chain too. Work is what makes humans happy..same goes for animals when they live with humans.

there r some misguided folks huh lol, now f they were being whipped and starved and illtreated then yes protest away but the majority of these folks look after their dogs(theres bound to be some assholes who dont) and as has been said these dogs love to do this.

God people are retarded. It is not as if they are taking a peice of shitzu out on the Iditarod. These are actual working dogs, and they can take this. They love it. It is literally what they have been bred to do for a very long time.
What would be inhumane is to keep that dog inside, or in Texas or some other hot state and away from what it loves to do. It would go crazy.

Agreed. People just have to find something to complain about. A sled dog would be much happier out in the snow, with a pack, rather than sitting in a house being looked after like a damn Pomeranian. Some dogs were bred to work. It does not hurt them, it is fun for them! I can guarantee you that a sled dog wants to pull a sled, not be dressed up like some common lap dog!

As far as horses living to work. I grew up with horses. And yes, they love to work!! You would be bored too if you had to just sat in a pasture all day. A healthy horse is one that is worked. The same goes for dogs. Otherwise, your animals will just become fat and bored. Working your animal is the best thing for them. It gives them something to do and look forward to. With the exception of most small dogs. Only because they are bred to do not a damn thing except to annoy me and shit everywhere.
