Identifying the family/background of a plant I have

Note: I'm not trying to nail down exactly what I have because I understand that that's nearly impossible. Just trying to get a ballpark idea.

I was given a couple of plants a while back to reveg and take care of (grown from seed, not cuts). Was told "OG Kush" and that's it. Didn't think anything of it, considering the amount of some sort of OG in seed form floating around nowadays.

Saw a local guy with a very similar plant that he referred to as OG and made me think they might be related. Small island and grow community. Elite cuts are highly unlikely given the logistics required.

Anyway, I've never been much of an OG guy, mostly because I was messing around outdoors and required sativas. Don't really have an idea of what to look for.

Only reason I didn't put it in the OG forum is just in case it appears to be something else entirely and didn't want to assume some sort of OG. Just looking to see if anyone thinks it reminds them of anything that they've grown, OG or not.

Here she is around 4 weeks, but could be closer to 5.

Smell is burnt coffee/rubber/earthy funk with some of the more mature calyxes a bit lemony. Her leaves either don't like the temps and humidity, or maybe they just like doing that curl thing, I don't know. All other plants in the tent seem to be fine.

Considering that "OG" nowadays is about as specific as "haze" or "skunk", I highly doubt anyone will be able to tell you something along the lines of "Yeah, that looks like the 'OG Kush' from breeder XY I have grown! It's probably the same!"

Since these plants of yours are from seed (i.e. no 'elite' cuts), it's even harder to tell, especially since the flowers ain't finished yet. Well, you're obviously aware of that.

What can be said is, that the buds in the pics you posted do not exclude the plants from being some kind of "Og Kush" from seed, as they bare a certain resemblance to 'OG-Style' buds. Same goes for the smell. Both of these features can vary greatly, even when you grow 'real' OG S1s. Additionally, there's many plants that look and smell similar but don't have anything (obvious) to do with OG Kush. So again, all that can be said about it (at least in my eyes) is, that it's not impossible for the plants to be in some way related to OG Kush - sorry:tiphat:

The leaf curl comes from excess nitrogen in your mix that tends to be more like a finicky sativa-ish trait as in not wanting a lotta food once stretch is over and full swellage begins from hormone changes.....that said....

She shows a fair amount of outer sugar leaf trichome development for that age , so all indications look like she`s gonna finish well if not locked out with too much food causing imbalances in ph as she gets older and comes of age.....and....

Not sure what medium it`s in or even if you can reduce the nitrogen or almost get rid of it with the nutrients youre using , and as far as being OG-ish ?.....no way of knowing or telling beyond the tell tale signs of typical OG `s as in they spit 3 leafers early on in development and grow lemony golf balls with very spindly limbs that require support mid to late flower.....so....

Drop the nitrogen or flush and feed lighter if able but.....Good luck and.....

Peace....DHF.....:ying: …..

Thanks. That sort of information is what I was looking for. I'm certainly not trying to get specific, but rather just a general idea. As keen as some members are with identify when plants *aren't* something, I thought I'd see what info I could get.

Thanks. I've fed a bit from the bottle, although they are in a soilless mix with foxfarm jump start that's sat for several weeks. Coco/ewc/perlite. Assuming I dial back the bottle feeding and just rely on the nutrients in the mix, she may correct a bit. Thanks for the info.

You have a NLD strain. Probably mostly sativa. If you don't want to kill it then stop with the 'nutes'. Expect a longer flower run.

Thanks for your input. I managed not to kill her and she is getting close to being ready in a couple weeks. Some shots from week 7 to now (9 weeks)

Looks more like a South African 'sativa' to me then an OG Kush.
Maybe some kind of Cookies you have. (Og Kush X Durban Poison)
