Ideal Sized Cab for 400w

What is the idea slized cabinet for a 400w? I want to start a grow and I am having a cabinet coustom made for me. Does anyone have a design they could lend me to give to the guy thats making my cab for me? I want to incorperate a cool tube with a raisable bed for the plants. I also want to have a carbon filter and a large enough fan to pull all the air through it and the cool tube. I want to fit in about 6 bubble buckets.

i would say something about 4feet wide by 2-3 or so feet deep maybe by at least 6 feet tall would be good for 6 bucket or you can go a 3X3X6 which would be ideal since that about 9 square feeet and 9 into 400 is 44watts a sqrft which is pretty good compared to 4X2 which is 8 8 into 400 is 50 so not bad at all. or the worst one which i 4X3+12 12 into 400 is 33.333 so i would say got with either 3'wX3'dX6'h or 4'wX2'dX6'h

Thanks for that info. The 4x2x6 sounds good becuase it would be easier to access all the plants than the 3x3.

I have a diagram for a perpetual grow cab that fits my 400w hps in the flowering chamber and 80w of fluoro's in mom/veg. Dimensions are 3'x3'x7' but you could change the dimensions if necessary. If you are going to put a 400w in there, you will need a larger fan to be sure.

Also, the above design has a flaw- that is the cooling air for the flower chamber is the heated exaust air of the veg chamber.

I can tell you from experience- this is not a good situation.

It is best to draw cooling air for each chamber from its own vent and preffereably as close to the floor as possible.

Crunkinshoe- no desrespect friend, I have a cab with a simillar vent system and has and still does pose problems.

I'm with the guys about 3 ft wide. I'm in the larger mills pride, and 400 is hard to cover 4 feet. But with six buckets you probably only need 3 feet x 2', but might be nice to use extra room for storing shit, If you build it 4x2.
Make sure you place the bulb tip to base being front to back on the cab to max out the light.

thanks for everyones help so far! btw im using this to grow plants other than marijuana at least for now my parents dont mind that I have the cabinet and I may convince them eventually but getting some hydro tomato grows in under my belt should be alot of fun and a learning experience.
