Ideal angle for a Reflector?

So I'm making myself a reflector out of a mail box and I start wondering if there is anyway to find an Ideal angle for the thing to cover a 3x2 area?. Its going to be 5ish inches over my crop (CMH) so I was figuring kinda broad but thats all I got, anyone know better?

I would really like to know too...

My best guess is horizontal and perpendicular to the length of the grow space/box/closet.

Hmm I think I may have been unclear. I dont mean the reflector itself but the angle its wings or sides or w/e you call it form with the top part.

Oh, well then, duh...(yup this weed i'm smoking must be good)

I would do my best to imitate a proven brand, check out a dude's thread in this section where he measures how bright some popular brand's hoods are.

one post every 5 minutes wtf!

Pretty difficult question to answer. But 3x2 isnt too large, so the reflector should reflect almost perpendicular to lighted surface. It depends of the distance of reflector to socked, but often you acomplish it using about a 50º angle, up to 55º (55º throws more light to sides).

But the easiest way is using a batwing design that you can modify in situ. You can do it by making a linear division of each wing, so you can adjust the low part of each wing angle in the way its footprint matches better the grow area.
