Hello, I am Nossninja. I have been a lurker on many sites and decided to land here! I am looking to do a small SOG. I plan to make 2 cabinets at 3X3X6. I am going to build them out of pallets. I will disassemble the pallets and build cabinets with that wood. Mylar lined insides... I am going put a clip on fan in there to move some air around. Gonna put a 400W light in each. I am going to connect both of them to 1 exhaust fan/carbon filter. One for VEG and one for Flowering.

I have a crude sketch of what I want to make and would appreciate any input.

I am VERY early on in the planning stages(not purchases OR construction yet).. So any input I will look into. Im lurking CL in my area, so if a steal happens, plans could change..

I am in for any input as far as strains that work well(first is gonna be some bag seed prolly but might get a good clone on a trip to CO.)

What size fan/exhaust filter would yall do for 2X400W HID lights? this one one area im pretty behind on and will read up on more for sure.

Well thanks in advance for reading this post, and any information ya can toss back will be appreciated.

Here are my Sketches. The Veg/Flower will be almost the same, just mirrored set up wise. I would like to keep 2-3 good Moms going in the Veg along with a set of clones getting ready to go into flower. and SOG the flower. Possibly do one strain at a time and rotate? Or prep harvest, but that sounds like more work. I will not likely MAX my yeild but go for quality, because this is for personal use but im not going to be worried about smoking.

Do no skimp on extraction or oscilation,

a 600cfm 6"/150mm fan with the correctly matched, spec carbon filter could take a few more lamps, there are smaller ones available, but why risk any issues

a "clip on fan" sounds like a chinese shop $5 4" shitter... get a good fan in there, for small spaces I use the "Meteor" style box fan with rotating screen rather than the commoner classic "oscillating fan" which has the whole head moving, these can work ok horizontally, but the cheapo mechanism is not really up to being set at an steep angle or vertically

access... plants tucked away at the far end usualy means underwatering, bugs or mildew not getting spotted in time... etc etc.. plants need care, make sure your plans are accessable

size... I would put both gardens to flowering, amazing how much a grower can smoke.. set up a small but effective flourescent mother, cutting, rooting system to supply both.

So, therefore, I would join the 2 gardens together and make the space for gardener/access as big as possible... the smaller it is, the more heat problems you will have

Hi and good idea to start a little grow going.
As chaos has allready said the key to growing in small areas is good air exchange.
Youll probably be best with a 6" fan running 2 filters.you can buy a Y piece to make this easier (or get busy with some kind of tubing and duct tape and make your own.
I would suggest making the flower area bigger than the veg area as you really dont need much space to run a mother and cuts at all.
Flowering from rooted cuttings is best in a sog so they dont get too tall and you can pack them in whilst still getting good light to them.
I ran a similar setup and found a 400w is overkill for a small veg setup.
I fine tuned to a 4 tube shop light cfl for the veg or an 200w envirolitevwould be plenty.
Hps in a small veg area can be too intense for rooting and also then theres the heat..
Although bagseeds can ocasionally throw up a good plant you would be better to startbwith a known plant/seed.it would be a shame to go through all the effort for a shitty end result or some crazy ass sativa that outgrows your space and leads to strife you dont need.
Id go 3/4 flower space and 1/4 veg.plenty of wind, extaction on a fan speed controller would be great (some fans have them built in)
Good luck.
