I want large buds.. less popcorn..

I prefer to have 1 large cola on each plant how do I do this? do I top and when?

Depends on strain..

Some plants will naturally grow as a dominant single cola, you can enhance this further by lollipopping them and removing the lower branches.

If you top it it will bush out, and you could end up with 6-8 main colas on a plant. Again depends on strain as to how they will respond to the training.

Photoperiod is another way of saying light cycle. In this case 12/12 light to dark or 14/10.

Unusual to be given this photoperiod for an auto-flower -usually 24 on is recommended for autos.

To eliminate popcorn and increase budsize in the remaining flowers you can pinch out the LOWER growing tips that you don't think will recieve much light when the canopy is full. Leave the fan leaves on the plant though, as they are what is feeding your buds. All the plants energy will go into the remaining single cola.

Greetings, The photo period on your link indicates hours of light needed for the plant to flower. With the auto flower that I have grown, they sex and start flowering about the fifth leaf set. From the pictures it appears to be one main cola. I do think that auto flowers do well with topping. Just let it grow. Also check the auto flower group on this site. Lots of good information.

If you want 1 large cola definitely don't top.

But IMO the best way to avoid popcorn buds is to top and lolipop. Basically keep an even canopy of buds and not too much undergrowth.

autos are mini bushes n its best usually that they do that, what would u rather have, one one foot stalk or 4-6 of them on one plant each with the same amout of bud on them roughly? all mine currently are mini bushes, if u want minimal bush though just grow in narrow deep containers.

The only auto's I've ever grown that had colas the size of a 6 foot regular plant were Mossy's Alf's. They were massive. Wish I made seeds from one of them.
