I want to know how to force a plant to hermie. I only have clones and I want to force a hermie so I can collect pollen and produce seeds for long term genetic storage.
So is there a way to convert one of my ladies into a male?
Is there a better way than my plan?
search on icmag and google for CS (colloidal silver) and STS (silver thiosulphate solution). both can be used to stress a true female into giving pollen.
get any seed, grow it for a male, pollinate a cutting from clone, get seed, grow for male, get new cutting from original clone, pollinate, repeat at least 12 time, male genetics will be washed out, pure seed from original clone.
i wouldnt use any seeds from a hermie if using from a hermie u put the hermie genetics into the seeds hereditary thing seen it from other growers have done it myself to see best way to a get a male germinate seeds regular not feminized when u get a male at flower time take him or them to a differeent location let males grow mature and shoot pollen collect pollen in freezer zip lock bag also use cotton balls to pick up loose pollen put in bag store baf in mason jar when u have females take cotton ball put in brown paper bag tie 1 to one of the bottom branches on ur female plant i have tied up to 6 bags per plant bottom branches and have made new hybrid strains happy growin
stress your ladies enough towards the end of flower and they'll toss out a few bananas as a last resort measure. If you bring the temps down into the mid 50's at night for a few nights you can accomplish this, along with some awesome purpling. good luck
I think many hermis are caused by light leaks. I have used those seeds, sucessfully Although the light leaks that caused the hermi was accidental, they grew perfect ladies. One in veg right now.
