i have always used miracle grow during veg for my darlings and have never used anything else, mostly because i haven't found anything else at my local garden stores and i'm too parinoid to order anything off of the internet. I've been around some forums and noticed that everyone hates on miracle grow all the time, but i've never had any complaints.

My question is: Should i try something else? can anyone tell me a good reason NOT TO use miracle grow? IF miracle grow sucks, and I should use something else, where (outside of the internet) can i find such a product?

Basically, i want the best ferts but i'm not willing to sacrifice my annominity by ordering something from the net.

The main question is.... are you having good results with MG? If so then why bother looking for something else. Im not gonna get into a whole big debate over organics vs MG. But i have been to many grows where people have talked tho organic thing up only to see them using MG with great results.

Every grow i have been to in Oregon used Miracle grow, and the best tasting pot i ever had in my life was grown with Miracle grow. I think even Lougrew uses MG and swears by it. The trick with MG is to use only half the dosage listed and to make sure you flush well before harvest. As long as you stop feeding 2-3 weeks before harvest and start flushing you will have clean great smoking herb. Same as the organic boys can do except you didnt have to mix a bunch of shit up and have 10 different bottles of crap to use.

im not bashing organics at all, just saying in your case if it aint broke dont try to fix it. if you are having good results then why bother looking into something else?

I used Schultz 10-15-10, 7 drops per liter and saw some amazing shit using it.

I don't think it is necessarily what your using but how you are using it. How you are using light, water, air. The symbiotic relationship between you and the plant, understanding the transpiration rate, and harmonizing within the realm of reality and realistic possibilities is the key to having a healthy, productive grow.

I went to organics cause I like the idea of recycling soil, not because I am a tightass but because I can't find anymore places to dump old dirt. I am completely sold on retaining a very valuable resource.

Doubledragon-
If you want to try organic growing for the first time you have come to the right place. But like Mr. Nevermind said, why now? Tell us why you want to switch your method of growing. You can grow some mighty buds with synthetic fertilizers no doubt. And, organic growing is a completely different way to grow and you should forget almost everything you have learned about chemical growing to be successful in organics.
Check out the "STICKY" at the top of this forum "Organics for Beginners" for some ideas of what you need and the methods you'll have to learn.
If you then want to grow organic, we'll help you as best we can.

i just like the idea of know that the food i am using to feed my plants came from the ass of an animal. call me crazy. I would rather employ animals to make my plant food then gray old men in lab coats. Granted it costs more but thats the market. people are banking on the term organic in every sense. As far as the plant is concerned, i still dont think it knows what your feeding it. Nitrate is nitrate whether it is naturally produced or synthetically produced. My friends always say how they can taste how it was grown with synthteic ferts, and i say HOGWASH!!! there is no way you can taste the molecules after they were passed though the microscopic membrane of the plant roots and transported through the vascular system of the plant and into the bud and then the ground-up, chared bud has the flavor..no freakin' way. So i think the decsion is not for the health of the plant, it is for the health of the grower and his/her peace of mind.

I'm most likely wrong but I think somewhere I've seen that even MG offers an organic line of products. I just don't remember where I saw it try the MG website maybe.

No One should use any Scotts products, they are one of the new american nazi companies. They drug test for tobacco, and of course weed. You get fired if you smoke tobacco even at home on your own time. It is one thing to say, we do not hire smokers, it sucks, but it is honest. This company forced it's long term employees to quit on a dead line, or they fired them. YOu couldn't give me miracle grow for free.

Make or buy some compost - far better than miracle grow and no-one is going to think you are growing - bonemeal, seaweed all these things are used by grannies to grow roses. No worries there, mate

Minds I: GREAT point.

miracle grow doesnt feed soil. might as well skip soil all together, go to soilless.
how much more does a stock of guanos and various meals cost compared to the end result?
i say down with salt ferts.

This thread just made me a 100% organic user...

Ive got access to 30 year old compost, and im gonna make the best of it.

Now to another question, how do i dispose of the ferts ive got?

You can dilute them way down and use them to fertilise a lawn or something like comfrey which you can then chop up and make the single finest organic ganja flowering fertiliser - if you dilute it enough and dispose of it gradually over a wide area then it shouldn't end up in the water course.
