i think i should post this here..

since im a total newb with electronics im asking you guys;
i have a led floodlight for about 2 years, 10w single cob, those cheapo ones, and i noticed it was.. blinking, on on on on off on on off on on off off on on etc
not knowing what the problem was i checked the wires and it was fine, today i found it not working at all so i pulled it down, it goes light up (no blinking) but its like a flashlight on its last minutes of power, its almost too dim to see
the driver is a '24-42v 300mah 10w' should i blame it? can i replace it (for testing) with someone else somehow? any help would be great, its not about the money, its about learning :thank you:

Sounds like a power supply, but could be the onboard chip causing the problem.
Plugging in a known good power supply or plugging this power supply into a known good light would be the easiest answer for me because I do not have a multimeter.
Checking current and voltage against the specification sheet (I don't have one of those either) would answer which side is at fault as well as pinpointing exactly where in either the fault occurred. All that is needed is to know where to poke the probes.

Had the same problem. Took it back to the hardware store 4 times, they kept giving me a new one... that didn't last long.

It burned out due to over heating. It won't take the hours per day... chinese crap. Does it have the square yellow piece in the center of the bulb?

I noticed the same thing, blinking and then dead.

its outside so its cool/cold to the touch

got me a multimeter but no clue what to check, can i just probe around or can i destroy it like that??

its a 9x1w chip, doesnt look burned or anything but the driver looks fine too

Sure looks like the one I had! Identical! Mine was a bit darker yellow and you could see where some liquid formed on the yellow part, like it melted. Can't see if yours is that way or not.. had some pics but erased them when they refunded my money the last time....
