First off, let me say that I am a very experienced smoker. I've been smoking every day for 22 years, and I'm not about to stop now. My tolerance is through the roof; the last joint I weighed was 1.1 gram and it's not the biggest by any means. I try to make an ounce last a week.
Well, two nights ago I started making some cannabutter mostly using the method recommended.
I put in one ounce of Crimea Blue into a pound of soften butter. (I was very disappointed in the lack of flavor, color, quality of the high.) I chopped it up with a cuisenart and the butter.
I didn't think that I cooked it long enough before I went to bed, so put it on low and went to sleep. Total cooking time was 14 or 15 hours.
I put it in the freezer, and at 6 pm last night, I had a piece of toast and a bowl (I hate waiting). The butter is delicious - on toast was perfect. It was mightnight when I realized I hadn't had a hit since I ate the butter. So, I smoked a bowl and went to bed.
I woke up and was very excited to try a piece first thing in the morning without smoking anything. I vowed to wait an hour and a half before taking a hit.
That was at 8 am. 9 o'clock rolls by, and I see a loaded bowl. I forgot about it last night. Remembering wanting to wait for the full effects of the butter, I did a mental check list, and decided, yes, I am definitely high; I'll wait another 30 mins.
I busy myself with the dishes, and guess what I see? My toast with the butter on it! I never ate it this morning.
I gobbled it down; it's 9:30 now and I am flying. I have never, ever, ever been high (on pot) for 15 hours! No wonder I slept great last night.
Is it time for a nap yet?
On a side note, last time I made butter I only got 3/4 lb out of the 1 lb. There was butter all over the stove - I thought I fixed that problem this time; I was much neater. I only got 7 oz of butter this time (0.44 pounds), so I guess that works out to a little over and 1/8th ounce of pot/ one ounce of butter (I put half an ounce on my toast). I saved all my sediment and threw it in the freezer. I'm going to try a "second pull" as it were.
