i started today with a sealed room. i bought a matador co2 moniter, $1000. :pimp3: a kenmore dual hose portable a/c $800, i have a green-air cd6 i traded 3oz of outdoor for. the room seems to have 1000ppm co2 with out the gen on. i got the matador set for 1100 ppm, and intend to raise it it gradually to 1500ppm

cant do photos. the room is 16x12. i got 9 x 600w with air cooled lights. a big canfilter and fan.i really like the matador, its super simple. so far the only con is the a/c doesnt have auto restart. i didnt really know about it untill today, and i read it here in IC. but i amsure there will be more cons, i just started the "perfect room" this moring.
the herb is all supplied to a medical users facility. its all organic, soil and tea recipes inspired by CW and ICmag.

Good luck with the room irie. I'm toying with the same thing. It's taking some time to get it dialed so the temps and humidity stay in range but once set up it should work great.

keep us updated on the progress

What type of place are you running your growroom in? House?

How are you getting rid of all the hot air? Can you describe your exhuast setup and how your lights are chained together?

the growroom is part of a bigger shop/garage type building. the building itself is very pourous, cedar shake roof, open and broken windows, sliding barndoor style garage door.
as for the lights, i got a 6" +- 450 cfm fan pushing air through the lights. there is a manifold straight out from the fan, with 3 6" outlets, each pushing through a row of 3 lights (600w, silverstar and coolstar hoods) and then join into a manifold again and exhausted into the attic. the hoods are hung individuallt from the ceiling and connected by the 6" ducting.

this morning i discovered the a/c wasnt operating because an internal tank had filled with water, but i think i can fix that by attaching a garden hose to drain. the temp got up to 95F

Doesnt the above seem a bit absurd?
Hes not claiming 20 1000 watters just a sealed room with co2.....?
What gives with the sarcasm?
I dont doubt he has any of this, why would you?

If its been less than 30 days since you bought the ac, take it back and get something with auto-restart and bigger. Its gonna really suck when summer gets here and the old power flickers which is all it will take to turn it off. A window unit mounted through a wall works good, tell the neighbors its for your dog to stay cool. I'm also doubting an 8000 btu units ability to cool that many lights. I got 10,000btu cooling 1 1000 and 1 400 both air cooled externaly with ballast mounted outside of the room, it works great now but I'm waiting to see how it does when we hit those 100 degree days. Good luck.

hey germankruez, ganjaman has too much time on his hands, check all his posts and youll see not a single one helps a grower, i just ignored it, i dont care if he doesnt believe me

2 buds: the a/c is 10,000 btu, the after veg the lights will only be on at night. i agree i should get one with auto restart, do you know of a portable one? window unit is not really a possibility. NO ONE has a/c where i live, it would really give me away

im really thinking about getting a 12K with auto restart, 10 just isnt quite doin it. i really wish i could have a split!

Sealed rooms are starting to make their mark. Been hearing a lot about them lately. Seems a lot of Canadian growers are moving that way in the quest for the perfect growing temp. (78) Personally, at this time, I can't fathom the cost.

I'll look around and see if I see any portables with auto-restart. If ac is a calling card to your neighbors then a split ac wouldn't be good as you still have to put the compressor outside, you could possibly place it in the attic but I wouldn't recommend it. If 10,000 is barely cutting it now and summer isn't even here yet then you may want to consider an 18,000 btu unit as those warm summer nites will raise the overall ambient temp your duct work and lites radiate in the room. The fixtures will be no cooler than the air being drawn or pushed through them. Then there is the radiant heat from the bulb that you can't do anything about. I'd get an extra fan on the draw side of your duct work and help that heat out. With that kind of investment in your grow setup, don't skimp on ventilation and cooling, summer is coming and its gonna be HOT. We're already hitting 90's in April/May, what will July/August be like??? Good luck!

where i live its cool at night, i should be okay. i dont want to add a draw fan as this might draw some co2 or odor out as the lights arent totally sealed, thats why i push the air through. i sure am having a hard time finding a 12000 poratable a/c dual hose with auto restart!
the attic isnt an option, thats the hottest place, thats where i have to exhaust my lights.
