Hey everyone. I'm at day 16 of flower on my very first grow. I've got a thread going in this forum already highlighting all the details and some pics. Anyways, here's the thing. I did a ton of research before I began, and I've learned a ton, and feel pretty confident about the knowledge I've picked up, but, I have one HUUUUGE weakness. Since this is my first grow, and since I started with some donated clones, I have never had to deal with sexing the plants. I didn't think it would be a huge deal, since I began with clones, they'd all be female anyway. However, I have been reading a ton of posts in the grower section, and every time I read about someone's plants going hermie on them, it gets me a little more scared. If my girls started to go hermie on me, I wouldn't even notice until it was too late. This has me freaked out. I know on OG in the FAQs they had some great pictures of males and females, and what to look for. If anyone has good pics showing the diff, please post them in this thread, or, if I did not search thoroughly enough through the forums here, and there is already a place for this, please direct me. Thanks
That takes care of the identifying problem. But my other issue is the hermie process to begin with. From what I have learned researching, the most common cause of hermies are light leaks, or darkness when the light should be on, or random light schedules that don't follow a definite pattern. Is this correct? Are most hermie problems triggered by lighting problems? If there are other types of stress that can cause a plant to herm, I would like to know what they are so I can cover my ass. As of now, my lights are on timers, so the light schedule is very meticulous. I also rigged up some canvas so that there is absolutely no light entering the room during the dark period. So as far as lights, I think I'm covered. Anything else I should be careful of to avoid hermies?
Thanks in advance for your help.
