I need some help.

So I'm a beginner grower and I worried about a few thing I don't know about. I have a pineapple express from growerschoice and it's about into week 5 of flowering. The lower bigger fan leaves are starting to turn light green almost yellow and I was wondering if this is something I need to worry about?

It's hard to say without pictures or more details about what you're feeding the plants and how often, what the ph levels are like, how big the plants are, what's the light setup and how far are the lights from the top of the plants, etc.

Now without knowing these details there are three potential issues. it could be a lack of sufficient nutrients although this would more likely show up in new growth towards the top of the plant rather then in the lower older growth at the bottom of the plant. It could be a ph imbalance locking the nutrients out from the plants but that would be more likely to effect newer growth and more all over the plant rather then just the base. The third potential issue would be if you were growing in soil in containers and the plants have become rootbound which in case you don't know is essentially when the root system has outgrown the container and the plant is beginning to choke itself in essence. There are fixes for all of those problems and none of them are that difficult but any of those problems you want to tackle quickly but you can't really do that without knowing for sure what the problem is.

There are also other potential explanations for example if the growth above those lower yellowing leaves has gotten really dense those leaves might just not be getting enough light and are now more of a drain on the plant them a benefit and so the plant lets them die off. The same thing can also happen if the plant has gotten so tall that you've had to raise the light such that by the time any light gets down to those lower leaves it's too weak to sustain them. Also while it's a bit early for this at 5 weeks lower leaves will just naturally start dying off as the plant draws closer to harvest. Once the buds really start to form the lower, bigger leaves become less and less important they mainly provide energy to develop branching and bud sites but once the buds start growing and thickening it's the leaves closer to and more directly surrounding the buds that are the most critical to further bud growth.

If you can try to provide some pictures that show the relation ship of the entire plant to the grow space and to the problem areas and then also some pictures that focus more directly on the problem. As well try to provide as much detailed information about the grow environment as possible. This will help people to be able to better drill down on what the problem is rather then just make guess based on too little info.

If you have 5 weeks left to go until the plant finishes, then you may need to do something now. Can you post a photo of the plant in the container to get the best help? 😎

Thank you guys so much for helping. I'm just worried because it's my first baby. I have been told to not really worry about it since I'm in week 6 but I want to make sure. She is in a 5 gallon with ocean forest. I don't really have a schedule for feeding. I just seen when she gives me signs and I also do the finger test.

The buds look and smell great. I'm just trying to figure out if there is something wrong.
