Can you guys help me with a problem I am getting with some plants?
These are the pictures,it just started when I hooked up the 1000watt hps for flowering, can it be because of the light ? The leaves get all brown around the edges like in the pic, then they get all crispy and die.
Need lots more information about your grow, but I can tell you the light did not do this, otherwise the upper part of the plant would be affected and not the lower, it looks like something else is in play......
possibly too much nutrients/ nute burn or pH issues....
can you fill out these questions please?
SOIL:
What STRAIN are you growing?
What was the establishing technique? (seed or clone?)
What is the age of your plants?
How Tall are the plants?
What PHASE (seedling, vegetative or flower) are the plants in?
What Technique are you using? (SOG, SCROG etc)
What size pots are you using? (Include how many subjects to pot)
What substrate/medium are you using? What brand of soil mixture are you using?(percentage of perlite, vermiculite...etc?)
What Nutrient's are you using? How much of each with how much water? How Often? *Knowing the brand is very helpful*
What is the TDS/EC/PPM of your nutrients used?
What is the pH of the "RUN-OFF"?
What method of pH test was administered? Using Strips? pH pen?
How often are you watering?
When was your last feeding and how often are you feeding?
What size bulb are you using?
What is the distance to the canopy?
What is your RH Factor? (Relative Humidity)
What is the canopy temperature?
What is the Day/Night Temp? (Include fluctuation range)
What is the current Air Flow? (cfm etc.)
Is the fan blowing directly at plants?
Is the grow substrate constantly wet or moist?
Is your water HARD or SOFT?
What water are you using? Reverse Osmosis (RO)? Tap? Bottled? Well water? Distilled? Mineral Water?
Has plant been recently pruned, cloned or pinched?
Have any pest chemicals been used? If so what and when?
Are plant's infected with pest's?
What STRAIN are you growing?A couple different ones, the bubbleberry ones have it
What was the establishing technique? clone
What is the age of your plants?2 and a half months
How Tall are the plants?2 to 2 and a half feet
What PHASE (seedling, vegetative or flower) are the plants in? just starting flower
What Technique are you using? just plants in 3 gallon bags
What size pots are you using? 3 gallons
What substrate/medium are you using? fox farm, all 3 bags mixed together
What Nutrient's are you using?Earth juice,1 tablespoon per gallon,with liquid karma,and cal/mag.

You also have not checked your pH, you need to test youe pH with strips; but I bet it is fine, but to let you knjow for future grows you need to test pH. You take distilled water and water and collect the run off from the bottom of the pots/bags and pUT a strip in there, or get a pH pen and test it.
Another thing, if your water is hard, stop using the cal mag, your adding more to the problem, so ditch the cal mag for now.
Your plants need nitrogen, so if you got some earth juice grow, use 1/2 teaspoon per gallon from here on out until you stop feeding your plants for the final flush.
Kinger - pH is really important if you want to grow healthy plants. You should check and, if necessary, adjust the pH of everything that goes into your pot. Every now and then you should check the run off pH - particularly when you are having a problem. A liquid pH test kit is under $10. Litmus strips are inexpensive too. You can give your plants the best nutrients in exactly the right amount and it won't do a bit of good if your plants can't absorb the nutes because the pH is off.
FYI, you can get ppm meters for less than a PH pen now. For example eseasongear.com has tds / ppm meters for under $20 including shipping. That way you can see EXACTLY how much you are feeding.
In any case, they look like they may be both rootbound and may have a deficiency or lockout problem. From what you are saying, I doubt they are underfed. So I am assuming you might actually be overfeeding. I'd try nothing but water for a few waterings and see if the problem gets better or worse, then you will know exactly what you did wrong.
Troubleshooting like this in soil is the best approach in my opinion.
Feed nutrient strength according to the overall size of the plants. Don't adjust feeding strength according to age of the plants or cycle. Go by size.
It's not too late to transplant since you just started 12/12
I will have to agree with kraken, I honestly think there is an over feeding issue here rather than pH, and good thing he said feed by the size of the plant, that is good advice and follow that like a book!
Make sure you never listen to the directions on the back of the bottle; except canna, advanced nutrients and GH, those are the ONLY exceptions.
