Okay i just got the the mlc 8 at. Im currently runnin 5k on 120v and i want to change that to 240v.Im using xtrasun 1000w dual voltage ballast. so shouldnt it be as easy as movin the power chord from the 120v input to the 240v and action? or what am I missin? the mlc has regular 120v outlets so everthing is matchin up,but the lights aren't comin on.Do I need to rewire the ballast? I thought on these kind u dont have to . But im not sure.

so you have the proper 240 cable and nothing I have ones of thes that i haven't used i would makesure the mlc is properly connected, and getting enough power you have it running from I believe for the eightt it should be a t6least 60 amp 240v breaker.also how far are you running your wire to mlc and from mlc be aware of voltage drop.i f your comfortable opening up a ballast and discharging a capacitor then open her up and make sure everything is fastened tightly, and nothing is loose.if your uncomfortable discharging a capacitor research how long 1 holds a charge so you don't zap yourself.
before you do anything research any posts with similar problems or call manufacturer 1st if you are under warranty.

Its rated at 40amps 240, and I am using the same chord that I would run if I was using 120v. So maybe thats were Im messin up. But the 8 outlets on the mlc look like normal 120v outlets. Thats why I bought this one because I thought I wouldn't have to buy new chords. Im runnin the mlc off a 2 pole 40 amp breaker with #8 wire at about 50 ft. and the green relay light comes on when I plug the trigger in a normal 120v outlet, like the directions say. So im pretty sure its got power. If anyone out there is runnin a setup like this please chime in!
Ive already searched this topic and I still did couldn't get a claer understanding. I dont post for fun. ANY HELP WOULD BE MUCH APPRECIATED.

# MLC-8a allows you to operate your 120V ballasts at 240V without having to change power cords: eight 120V style NEMA 5-15 outlets
# Rewire your existing Multi-Tap ballast from 120V to 240V without having to change your 120V power cord.

I must have to rewire the ballast.

THANKS
