Do the tops feel dry like they're already ready to smoke? I had this happen with one of my indoor plants. Just one particular strain. Im not sure what the cause is, but I do remember a thread from about last winter that was discussing that topic, I havnt been able to find it for awhile though, let me try again.

From what I remember I think it was something to do with the air possibly, but I really can't recall. Hopefully I'll find it here soon.

Think this ones closer to what I was thinking, but further from what you're experiencing I believe. Anyway,

This one's the closest yet, might be what your dealing with

Maybe this as well

https://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=272604

this is the last post on the last link:

It's fusarium wilt. The fungus is soil borne and makes its way into the plant through the roots. Once inside, it clogs and blocks the xylem, the tissue that moves water and some nutrients through the plant, preventing water from traveling up the stem and out into the branches and leaves.

NASTY!

Maybe fusarium Wilt?

Sorry if this doesn't help, couldn't find the thread I was thinking of.

If your are in the 209, San Joaquin Valley, I am certain your issue is going to be from caterpillars, they are vicious in the Valley.

Look over the plant real closely and I'm sure you will find them.
