so my long time mother is being flowered she went in three days ago. the leaves started truing paper white and dieing. so i ph tested the soil and it was at 7.0, so i flushed and runoff was 5.0. im not to experienced in how to correct this problem, hahaha i need any help i can get.

also i have a few clones from that same mother and there is one showing signs of leaves turning white. but its in fresh 3 day old soil and just got its first feeding of technaflora nutes. i will see how it looks when the sun comes up for them later

please help silky:1help:

Hi Silky,

White leaves can be a sign of an iron deficiency and a mg def can look similar. Some pics would help. Most likely its a deficiency caused by the low soil pH and using bottled water. It needs to be raised.

You should use some type of horticultural pH up product like this. Just use it to adjust your water to a pH no higher than 7.5 and flush the plants until the runoff gets into the proper range, about 6.5-6.9. In a pinch you can use hydrated lime but it doesn't work nearly as well. If you're using reverse osmosis bottled water you need to add a calcium/magnesium product because your water contains no micronutrients. Be careful too with bottled water, some contain salts that will build up in the soil and hurt your plants.

If you do transplant again (or next time you grow) be sure to add some dolomite lime to the soil. It helps to prevent pH problems like this.

Silky,
If I were to flower a clone Momma...I'd definitely transplant into fresh soil. Perhaps even trim the roots. You're putting a plant with exausted soil into a stressful situation.

few months ago doesn't matter, you need to transplant before flower and give her some time to stretch her feet back out. Flowering a root bound mother is not a good idea imo.

pH 5.0? she must be starving too... plants can only ingest food within specific pH ranges mate (5.5-6.8).. added to what the others have said, this would be where I would start looking...
