It's fine to trim a few of the lower branches in veg/early flower but unless you're LST or scrogging you shouldn't be trimming leaves at all really especially not from the top of the plant.

I quite often rearange leaves by tucking them behind buds etc though and this does the job fine.

I dont let any of the buds get in the way of the fans getting light, they are the main receptors.Taking a few bottom nodes before flower is fine, anything else is leafacide.

Just tuck in the fan leaves that block light to the buds. If you notice any yellowing under the plant just trim them off they arent getting any light and are magnets for mold.

heres to leafacide

i removed most of the larger fan leaves i only kept the 3 top mainly, the pics are of day 31 from flip to 12/12 2nd and 3rd pic's of of a bubba kush white mustang cross heavy indica plants in back ground are sugar shack same indica dominate. dinner plate sized leaves on the bubba cross i dont worrie because the smaller leaves grow out also during flower. so i'm still taking a leaf here or there if thier blockn budsites, the plants have alot of leaves left just smaller they do grow larger and photosynthsis dosent seem to be effected. i used to believe the same way plant needs all the leaves but when selective trimming is performed during the flower cycle the results are well worth it.

Hi

If you only have 3 wks left, id cut all the slightly yellowing fan leaves ( usually the bottom 1/4 ).

Feed it some bloom boosters, i.e canna 13/14 and Canna boost for 2 weeks and then flush for a week.

By the time i flush the plants ive usually lost 3/4 of my fan leaves due to the natural yellowing that occurs in the final weeks of flower. The plant thinks its autumn in the final weeks so this is natural and i just help things along by pulling leaves before they go from yellow to brown.
