I need a little expert advice...

Sup guys I'm new here, been browsing for a few days and I've learned quite a bit,,tons of great info here i just need a little more on the personal Q&A level. any help i get thanks a ton in advance seeing as how this is my first grow.


I have 2 40watt phillips natural sunshine floro's which will be supplying light to a 2x2 closet. can someone just give me the skinny on ventilation to a closet with no vents? I'm not even really sure what questions to ask so ask me some questions and I'll see if I can answer them.

from my own experience... closet grows without vents created mold on my soil, althought it was quickly resolved, it still poses a problem.. also that it gets quite hot in there... it would be humid in there and these plants dont do too well in humid environments in my opinion..

I hope you dont plan on using only 80 watts for your whole grow.. you would need more wattage preferably of course the warm spectrum during the flowering period.. well good luck and welcome to icmag

You want to have arround 50w per sq foot of growing area. For a 2x2 closet that would be 200w of light. You should invest in a HPS or more fluoros. In my closet I have 300w of HPS and 125w of CFL. I just leave the closet door open when the lights are on and thats all the ventilation required... for me anyways. Good luck!

Well thanks guys..it looks as if i am going to invest in some more cfl's seeing as how this is my first grow i don't want to overdue it money and equipment wise until i know this is something i can do. anybody have an idea for an ideal setup in a 2x3 8ft tall closet. I am concerned with light postitioning where does the light need to be? and also light schedule, 24/7 for however many weeks it takes to veg. then as vegging starts i would switch over to 12/12, what is an ideal light for vegging? again i am using cfl's now. thanks again guys. oh btw another tx smoker here dubman
