High Y'all :shooty:
I Just purchased a Sun Hut 3.6ftx3.6ftx7.1ft "fortress" grow tent for a smallish vertical grow I have planned upcoming. Currently looks like I'll be stacking two 400 watt HIDs and surrounding them with 8 3-5 gallon Hempys.

Thoughts? Have I shot my foot good or am I good to go? or somewhere in the middle?

Thanks y'all!

I'd be worried anything other than vegging in cheap tents. Veg doesn't matter if light leaks a great deal. Flowering is hugely finicky.

A gorilla that size is almost $400.

I'd say to out it nicely a very inexpensive tent.

I like vivosun for cheap tents.

The one you bought doesn't look like it has flaps over the zippers on the inside.

Going cheap is a good way to burn a building down or otherwise het busted.

It might be legal in the state but not federally.

It's a $300 tent retail.

They have two "lower" lines.

Their lower line are decent tents. Do you KNOW these tents or are you prejudging because they don't cost as much? Just wondering how much I should pay attention. Because price doesn't = quality IME.

Their "base" tent has pretty nice, thick overlapping flaps to seal out the light.

I just finished four 42" tall plants in a 5x5x8 tent in three gallon Hempys. The tent was FULL. I think you are optimistic about fitting eight even three gallon Hempys in a less than 4x4 space. I realize that going vertical cuts down on horizontal usage, but still...

you are likely right about the pot size, if I go over 3 gallons. The basic design is after Marlo's on a slightly larger scale, but 3 pots on each side (almost) straight up a trellis.

LOL, I'm SURE i'll run into massive snags, but I've been doing this on and off since the early 80's...if it outgrows the tent it will be trimmed back and held in check that way.

I've very likely overshot with veg time, but it is what it is. I'm moving in a few weeks and want to get another crop in with multiple tents before the summer hits.

Thanks for stopping in. :tiphat:

I don't know much about vertical in temts. But vert would be the way to grow in my crawl space. 4 feet from dirt floor to ceiling. Too short for horizontal but also very humid and moldy. There is already a 50 amp 240v line down there.

Im about to order a couple of VERY cheap tents. 1.2m x 1.2m x 2m, or roughly 4ft x 4ft x 6.5ft.
They are made of the same 600D Mylar the expensive ones are and have exactly the same type of frame, fastenings and zips. They cost less than 55 pounds or 77 dollars on eBay so I have eBay oversight and paypal buyer protection.
I will rigorously test them before anything else and return them for a full refund should they disappoint. This size/type tent from a well known brand would typically be priced between 100 and 150 pounds each so less than 110 for TWO with matching spec is worth trying out.
