i got up, got my wife off to work, ate breakfast, and did a wad of small 'shrooms. just finished up a play fight with the cat while lying on the carpet in the living room. (she always wins. :dunno:) and now i'm sitting here watching the hummingbirds doing aerial combat with the honeybees...sometimes life is so good! :tiphat:

after going for weeks without our herbal friend, i learned this morning that i'm not going to need to work again, for months at least. so, no drug tests coming. SOMEBODY is gonna wake up in the morning and have a "wake and bake" on the back patio with the squirrels and hummingbirds...probably won't be able to sleep tonight, lol. got a birthday right around the corner too, and archery season for deer opens up Saturday morning...:smoke: edit- nearly forgot. got results back from my last physical today. A1C (blood sugar) dropped from 8.3 to 6.7, cholesterol is excellent, (potassium levels down) and i'm holding steady at the 22 lb weight loss. technically, i'm no longer a diabetic. :) pretty sure that is much like a "recovering alcoholic" though.

Sounds like good things are falling into place. Enjoy to your fullest! I too got test results back recently, which I was dreading, but "no abnormalities were found." Damn near the best high I've ever had. I'm not a hunter, but I'd like to get at least one more keeper fish this season -- or maybe 2 . The bounty of the sea has been generous this year and I'm am grateful.

i haven't been fishing in so long that i've forgotten what water looks like. :dunno: wanted to go on a pilgrimage to the Outer Banks this fall, prob not gonna happen. i'd be happy just to feel and smell the wind, and hear the crying of gulls and the roar of the waves breaking. fish are just a bonus while surf fishing...(y)

That's the main reason I like to go fishing, to get some sun and be out by the water. The gulls are complete assholes though. Once you cast, they'll dive bomb head first into the water trying to snag the bait. I've hooked one before and not wanting to cut the line leaving it in, I had to slowly coax it over to gently remove the thing.

There's a minor storm moving up the east coast this weekend, so I don't think I'll get out there. I usually fish until mid October, so still plenty of time.

i've never been to the OBX any later than june. from what i read, the surf fishing along the Atlantic coast stays hot (at least around Hatteras) until late December as the schools of blues, stripers, and red drum and all work south with the baitfish. the world record bluefish (over 31#)was caught over there in late January years ago, i think...
