I have to get rid of my dream cab *help*

Due to recent events in my life, I am forced to get rid of my stealth cabinet. It has been built using a c-22 as the base cabinet and has never been used.

I will most likely try to sell it on ebay and would appreciate any pricing or listing suggestions.

This cabinet is designed to be used with high plant counts flowered directly from clone/seed and max yeilds.

The cabinet has a 600w cool tubed light on a light mover and timer, and the ventilation system is powered by a 600w vortex on a speed controller.

Both the fan and the ballast are stored above the cabiner in a footlocker which cuts down on noise and significantly increases the stealth.

Ventilation intakes consist of lightproof darkroom louvers 8" square.

The cabinet also consist of three flood trays with two overflow return lines per tray which return water to the reservior. Each tray has an on/off valve which enables the user to use anywhere from one to three trays during a given growing cycle.

Reservior is 18 gallons and is stored benath the flower area. has water pump and electronic timer with programmable timer so you can specify your own flood/drain cycle.

Also underneath the flower compartment is a vegegative area with a mini bubble cloner, batwing reflector, and three 150w compact florescent lights.

The entire assembly is on wheels and is quite sturdy with a 3/4 inch plywood backing. Each cabinet door is also lockable with two tot locks on each door, top and bottom. Cabinet doors and face are lines with black felt in order to minimize light leaks.

All this cabinet needs to get started is seeds/clones, medium. I haven't put a carbon scrubber on this cabinet as of yet, but there is ample space in the footlocker if one were to choose to do so.

I have spent months creating this cabinet exactly to my needs, and now I must remove it from my life. Please offer any listing strategies or how much you think i could get for this in an ebay type auction.

Don't sell your hard work !
Put it in storage if times are not right for you now . And nobody can be aressted for having growing equipment with out the grow .
But to let that cab go without even a test run to see what it can do, will leave you wanting to know for the rest of your life cause no two rooms are excactly alike even if they are built idenical
just my two cents

After building this one, i am confident I cqan built another for less money in half the time. I may even build a bunch and just sell them to make money for my future grows.

How much do you think i could get for it on the hydroponics market?

Must sell my dream cab, help me come up with a price range for ebay

In addition, i anticipate needing the cash for a legal issue which has recently come about. Lawyers and bondsman aren't cheap and i need to start preparing.

Would 1200 be unreasonable for such an item?

yes.

I know you spent alot but I would say 600-800 is more reasonable.

You can try ebay or craig's list might be better - as you'll have to do pick up only - shipping would be outragous.

do you live in a med legal state? if so maybe you can sell it through the medical users groups or local clubs.

edit: Also be aware that selling this thing may imply some liability on you.

I don't think a person could buy the base equipment for this much less build it themselves for 800. I am offering a plug n' play grow system here. Maybe I am totally off the wall but I feel anything less than 1000 would be nuts. As far as liability, I know it works and have tested all aspects of the system and it will be sold as is.

Absolutely beautiful!!! I love the light mover & cool-tube combination....genius!!!!!

ya i agree with sugabear on this one.....he is indeed a cabinet wizard and i have faith in his analysis.....I would say 900 would be the absolute limit as well.....i just can't bring myself to even consider buying one of those fancy cabinets (none of which even come close to your cabinet in terms of versatility and flower production) for over 2000 usd.....it's high time someone brought these crazy prices down.....

:ying: kind regards from a guineapig :ying:

800, 900 eh.......

Does anyone know if we are allowed to sell items anywhere in these forums? If I have to sell it, I'd rather sell to someone here.

I am considering creating similar cabinets for sale. If I were doing a couple at a time I could probably build them for less and sell them for 900.

you could break it up and sell off the pieces individually, or at least some of them. I have found it more profitable and quicker to break things up for sale instead of trying to do a single lot on ebay.

And I'm sorry if you're insulted by my suggested price, but you asked.

my point about liable is related to your idea of selling a bunch of these - Imagine if you bought a refrigerator and it had a short and your house burned down - well you can bet the insurance will go after the refrigerator manufacturer - same thing when you start selling commercially produced grow boxes. that is why they cost so much because they must be wired by certified electricians and the company must carry liability insurance all of which adds to the price.

Are you trying to make a profit or trying to get some cash?

No worries. I wasn't insulted by your suggestion, just surprised. I appreciate the contribution.

Just want to get rid of my box and make some cash for my lawyer.

so to expand on the break it up idea... sell the cool tube and light mover and sell the cab without them - I can almost garauntee you'll make more money. Maybe even sell the whole thing piece by piece - you should get close to what you paid selling the light and fan on ebay.

this is a really minor note, but you mentioned 3 150w cfls.............did you mean to type that or was it 3 15w cfls or 3 150w equivalent cfls.............just be careful and proofread any details before posting for auction, any typographical errors can be used against you if someone ants their money back or wants a sneaky way out of a final bid on the auction. To partially avoid the liability, you mamy want to write a few disclaimers that are well worded. If you do use disclaimers, consider researching disclaimers provided with similar products.
