I HAVE THRIPS!!!!!

I have thrips, that said, i want to get rid of them. I have "ortho MAX lawn and garden insect killer." Which says in its directions that it gets rid of thrips (but only on "roses and shrubs and non fruit bearing trees" , not on the fruit and veggies as i would hope, seeing as how my bud which <is in week four, is a fruit and in the "tomatoe" category>. I was told that i should look at the tomatoe directions on any bottle of anything considering they don't openly name cannibis as a plant they would reccomend treatment on, however tomatoes require very similar parameters as cannabis...). It's active ingredients are just: BIFENTHRIN: 0.3%, non active ingredients accounting for the other 99.7% of it's composition. What I am asking is;
1: Can i get rid of the thrips with this solution, (or will I merely "keep them at bay" according to the thrips 101 thread on icmag) and
2: will it be safe to use such a solution on already budding plants? @ 4 weeks out of 10. (Safe as in smoking the bud will not harm me more than natural bud smoking would.) Please please please........ I need someone WITH thrips experience to tell me whats up. (Although any and all experience with this subject would be GREATLY appreciated) Thanks to all you icmaggers, but i need your input BADLY : SHROOMIE_GLEN.

I would not use anything on your plants that is for "non fruit bearing trees". The best thing I have tried is the Monterrey brand garden and insect spray with Spinosad. It is even OMRI listed (organic). I have used it on thrips and fungus gnats- it works great. It should be less than $20 for a small bottle, and it will make many gallons of ready to spray insecticide. You should be able to find it in any better quality nursery. Good luck!

Hang Vapona No Pest Strips about 8 feet apart in your growroom and those thrips will be gone in days.

Greetings shroomie glen

Bifenthrin at 0.3% is not considered harmful if ingested...however, no knowledgeable and/or responsible individual would recommend that you do.

Also, you are correct in surmising: 0.3% is control strength.

You are familiar with the thread; consider Kokua's (and Ghost's) recommendation.

Sincerely,
Charles.

Spinosad (aka Conserve SC) is your best bet for instant knock-down of thrips (mix it with a surfactant like Wet Betty or Penetrator for best results).

It's getting late into flowering for foliars, but you've gotta do what you've gotta do! - Make sure you have good air-flow and low humidity after you spray....and either spray the soil as well, or mix some spinosad into your next watering to kill any thrips in or on the soil.
