i'm flowering some bogbubble out in a hydrohut in my unheated garage, and the last few nights temps got really close to freezing in the hut (temp read 33 degrees) and i also left the plants on the ground as opposed to lifting them up off the cold granite. i'm now noticing the white parts are a bit shriveled instead of stretching toward the light. they have also slowed growing alot, and are approaching 60 days. the trichs aren't really amber at all yet. if you didn't know better, you'd think they're 30 days at most. can i give it another week or two to grow, or did i miss my opportunity and have to reveg?

Leavin a space heater might not be the safest bet. And I thought my mid 50's night temps were low !!!Wish I knew what to tell you. I think puttin foam insulation board on the ground might help retain a lil more heat but at near freezing, youre really chancin it. If that temp gets any lower it could kill em . GL

I would run my lights at night when it is the coldest outside. At least a thousand watt and leave that thing zipped up with co2 injection.

I would say one or two things might help you, but your facing a pretty hard challange. First of all, your in a difficult time. There isn't a week left, but it looks like at least 2-3 minimum. The plants will sometimes finish faster when it gets cold but thats only if they were almost at the peak of floral development. I have heard growth stops way way below those temps. Could you do a 2 hour change to your lights daily so that they are running at night? I wouldn't want to reveg now, it makes it very frustrating because you have no buds and no plant to take clones from. I would try to stick it out. At worst, start out some seeds in the 12/12 chamber for your next round and drop a couple of gallons from milk jugs with hot water in there when you go to bed every night. Another thing to consider is trying to move the hut close to a warm thing in the garage (have a water heater in there?). I have heard of people using tubing from AC's to run cool water throughout the growroom. This could probably be used the opposite way, but I wouldn't count on a lot beating 30-40 F weather other than a 15000 space heater on a very good timer and electrical system.

Honestly I think the only thing you can realistically do at this point is allow the dark cycle to go for an extra 12 hours and then turn on the lights at night. the warmth of the light is all you can hope for with out adding a significant amount of additional electricity to your bill. good luck!

I have to use a small temp controller heater in my room. it is very cold here, about 0 f overnight, and my plants are in an uninsulated area.

With huge temp shifts like that you are asking for trouble

I have found that running the light at night helps plus a small fan heater running 15 mins on and 15 off for the entire 12 hours maintains a perfect 78 from about an hour and a half from lights on untill about an hour after lights off.

I also run the heater for 15 mins of every hour during the daytime.

PEACE.

m'kay, so you raise the plants off the ground, run the lights at night, and throw in a space heater for good measure. i know you've probably already fixed the problem, but i just raised my post count. :jump:

33 is a bit cold. I'm in a basement and the floor is very cold. The containers of on the cement floor and have had no issues over the past couple years. I'm talking room temp 55-60 if that, and a floor temp of 40-45. The 12 CFL's may make up a little heat.

if you think about it, a florist store "cut" flowers in a fridge and they last longer.

Why not get one of those space heaters that doesnt get hot to the touch but just produces heat stick it at the other end of the garage (supposing you dont have a hug monster garage) and leave it on medium so that it will take time to heat the garage but wont overheat it.

Maybe a wild idea but it seems logical to me and is what i would probably due. The other ideas about keeping your lights on at night are also very good, but i dont think in a garage that the heat would stay just were your plants are so it might not be enough still.

Trial and error is the only thing that is going to help you. Good Luck.
