I have a ? on best quality Ballasts...

I need input on wut all you guys think is the best quality Ballasts, Lumatek,Hydrofarm,Sunsystem,add more if I'm missin a few. I don't want anything to burn out or start a fire, All input is greatly excepted.
I want to get a lumatek but I have some mixed feelings on them.For all u master growers what are u guys using for lights?

I use Sun system lights. I have two magnetic ballasts...both 600watt hps (quiet and reliable) and then I recently picked up a 400 Sun digital. The digital produces practically no heat. So those are my bloom lights. Then I use a DIY 400mh for veg. Bought a ballast kit and wired it together. That one is my oldest one and cheapest too...

I got a couple of the hydrofarm powerhouse 1000 watt hps ballast on clearance at my local hydro shop for $180. It comes with a 8 year warranty. I am running it at 240v. It runs very cool, as in I am barely able to feel warmth by placing my hand on it. I can leave my hand on there indefinitely. It is also very quiet, much more than my 400 watt hps or any of my fans.

I am impressed. I was planning on picking up some cheap sunsystem ballasts, but they had these at $60 bucks off. I am glad it went down this way.

i have 3 lumateks, 2 600s and a 400. i have had no problems yet. i liked them because they are sealed

I like the lumateks. They used to have some problems, so you'll hear mixed reviews, but I think most of the problems have been sorted out a year ago or so. Completely silent and not much heat.
