I hate my car!

Ok, so I have needed a new clutch for a while but ignored it kinda, a little while ago it started slipping like mad and now I think I will only be able to drive the car once or twice more before it goes completly and provids no holding power at all.

Good news is I got some money for a new one for xmass, bad news is the install takes NINE Hours and I've called a few places to verify this. They want more money than the clutch is to install it! God I wish it were summer I would do it myself but I dont have a heated spot and no one in my local car club wants to come out in the cold for 9 hours in their off work time to help install a clutch (if it were summer I could get someone).

So yea, this sucks its gonna end up costing me like 900-1000 for a new clutch that can tame the beast I have built up little by little.. I'll dyno the car too after the damn thing is installed since my shop now has a dyno that will work for my car as its got 4 wheels getting power not two.

get a heated blanket, put a tarp over it and you'll be good to lay on the ground all day, I've done it before and it works quite well, now I just fold the blanket up on a creeper and wear decent clothes and mechanics gloves and I can work on a car all day winter or not.

DSM by chance?

Theyre fun, but they break! Some of them are very old now, mines more than 10 years old but looks pretty good.

A guy who has helped me in the past might do the job for like half the money it would take a shop to do it and hes done a LOT of them it seems, he does 60k tuneups for 300.

yeah, that's not too expensive for a clutch job. Try 2000 bucks for my car, shop time is like 20 hours.

I own a 99 3000gt vr4, I've went through two clutches so far, so I feel your pain, 4wheel drive/steering is great though, the car hugs corner better then any other car I've ever owned. But 9 hours to change the clutch sounds very exaggerated to me, as I've had a buddy do mine, in my own garage change it in less then 5 hours (with my help, I knew very little about the car then though) -_-

Its a pain in the ass to ride a bike 10 miles to work in the snow and rian, I've done it to get to class just across campus and it was awful, of course that was upstate NY.
