After reading about these things I had to get one....

I have gone around my house checking every little thing plugged in

Toaster over 768w

96cfm Squirrel cage fan 38w

My PC power strip eats 589w

My TV/Entertainment Center power strip eats 600w...

Here is a weird one..I recently bought a 250w Lumatek Digital ballast. I had heard they use LESS electric than older copper ballast.

Well, I tested a 250w HPS copper ballast and got 200watts at .97 power factor ratio. I then tested my digital ballast with a 250w MH and I got 273watts with a .99 power factor ratio...

Anyone else have one? Things you have tested?

Did you give both ballasts time to warm up completely? Also, some of those power meters only work correctly with simple resistor only circuits (eg: toaster, incandescent bulb) and don't like inductors (some ballasts, power supplys etc) and give incorrect readings.

I was just checking out one of those kill-a-watt things a week or two ago, and I'm probably going to get one soon, they're pretty cheap.
