when you're going out of town for a few days, give them a good dousing before you leave. are they in the ground or in containers?

I get no rain here AT ALL and have lost a girl to thirst. make sure you give it a more thorough watering next time, is all i can tell ya.

herb is very resilient and has surprised me more than once when they have hopped up out of their grave like nothing happened.

I wish OG was still around, I forget who it was but they posted an awesome easy resevoir for us outdoor growers. Ever since I saw it I started using it. If I can bug a friend for a digi I'll try to make a thread.

you can try those water absorbing crystals next time, mix them right into your mix or put them at the bottom of the pot/hole so the roots can always have access to em if they need a sip

Wilting is the way our plants respond to a water shortage. The tiny pores on the underside of the leaves close and the leaves droop. They can tolerate a long period of drought that way.

Amazing what a little water will do. :D

keep it soaked and plan on losing alot of leaves and some flowers. the plant will slough of leaves left and right before it loses bud. if you can find a main branch that is dieing faster than the rest of the plant, cut it off --- reduce the leaf surface and water heavily after plants have wilted. if the whole plant is browned except for the tip top and it is curled over and leaning- the plant will probably not come back. almost anything short of that and the plant,or a reduced version of it, will survive. mulching helps; water absorbents help; deep soil or large container helps. to be free of watering and grow gigantic plants, grow in an area with large or crowded willows-- on the surface there might not be a stream, but underground there is water year round or there would be no willows there.
