I don't know what mold looks like

I was dissecting popcorn buds and I have no idea what mold looks like, I've seen it in pictures but apparently I'm incapable of determining it on my own. I also tried to include close ups of the ones I haven't picked, I have no idea if they look normal. I mean I thought they looked okay until I started smoking the little ones and now I'm afraid my judgment is impaired as well as being mold illiterate. Any input would be much appreciated.

That's definitely some kind of fungal kill. edit: It's the early stages of bud rot, I can see the leaves turning that I mentioned!!
You will see a small bud turn that dark color and die sometimes.

Sometimes you will see one of the small leaves on your tops turn dark and corkscrew like that. Look for it!! If you see any of those brown grey looking leaf tips spread the bud apart to see inside it. I've seen whole crops lose their tops from the inside just because it wasn't obvious to the grower.

Usually by the time you can see the bud rot on the outside of your top, it's too late.

Cut any tops that are rotten and get air moving big time!! You need a dehu or better air out!!

helllo Bubble~licious.... damn i just deleted my pics of the first stages of a molded bud...yea its kinda hard 2 see.. in the beginning...first stage will shows a white fuz with darkend spots where the infection starts....that fuz will be verry sticky when touched and you will see the difrence coz its not looking normal if you check the plant......however ime ...you should watch out for yellowing/rotting leaves toutching the bud .....if that happens you should watch out coz those yellowing/rotting leavelets can be the start of verry quick infections tru out the room...this is the would be the most common moldinfections i think?....2gether with humiditylevel....

if that happens with me i cut everything under the infected spot...Main Cola or not....:joint:

Thanks for the feedback. I'm on day 47 with another approximate 2-3 weeks to go. My RH is never over 37%, I do keep a dehumidifier on at night, I don't keep it on during lights on b/c my RH does not even get to 30%. I will turn up my fan settings to higher. The last 2 pictures, so far is the only one I came across that had that scaley/rough feeling white stuff, it was more apparent from the rear view and there was about 3 larger chunky like white spots, almost like tiny rocks. It was the smallest and lowest bud on my one lady. It's hard to get a good close up on them. I'm gonna do a closer search on the bigger buds. Should I be cutting off the yellow/dying leaves that are close to the bud? Looking at the larger buds and their condition, should I chop her now and just take what I can? Thanks again for the help.

Where you see the sick leaf tips is where you should start looking on the colas. Gently try and spread the bud so you can see inside to the stem. That's where the rot will be.

If you do see some rot, take the top off and save what you can.

If there is no rot, pull all the sick leaf including stem out of the bud.

Go over the bigger buds every day looking for these leaves and rot. If you are finding a bunch every day, time to top your plants instead of risking waking up to a loss of your colas.

I've been through this several times and have trimmed for friends countless times who were losing tops. I have buddies who top their plants because they like to let the bottoms fill out more and the tops will not make it usually.

Good luck.

Thanks for giving me details Farmer, it's my 1st grow and I thought things would be much easier to see/do b/c I've read so darn much, but tis not the case with me. I went through the biggest cola (about 9 inches, I've really screwed this grow up) anyway, I was able to get my fingernails in between the buds and spread em out and when I look at the stem it's all a nice tone green in there, no brown coloring and I didn't notice anymore of the funky textured white stuff. (it looks so much like resin, but the texture just seemed off, it's confusing a bit) I don't want to take any chances, so later on when I get my cam back, I'll try and upload a few pictures for some experienced opinion.

Well your buds look pretty good overall considering it's your first grow and you had the common sense to take notice and inquire about what some people wouldn't even see and prolly dismiss anyways. I'd say you are on the right track to being successful.

The case often is guys are trimming and they discover then that they have rotten colas from the inside and you have to bust up good buds into hamburger.

You are on rot/mold watch, things will be fine. :sasmokin:
