I boarded up my windows and humidity jumped...help!

Ok, so my humidity was about 50% lights on 60% lights off, with one 6 inch vortex pulling through a phat filter through a 1k. I boarded up the windows and got another 6 inch vortex to cool the lights separately, so I made one hole in the bottom right of the board for an intake and one in the upper left for exhaust. Connected one vortex to the intake through the lights and out the exhaust, and the other on top of the tent sucking out through a phat filter blowing into the ceiling. Running the lights one 12 hrs, carbon filter 24.

And my humidity Spiked! It's fucking 67% with the lights off now. I thought maybe the cold wet air from outside was causing it so I switched the intake to suck the cleaned air from the other vortex, and that doesn't seem to be doing much. What the hell should I do? I can't really afford a dehumidifier (2 tents in different rooms so I'd have to buy 2 dehumidifiers until I've got a bigger room,) I've already got powdery mildew problems and I'm almost to week 7 of flower....

Help?

My idea would be to connect the 2 tents via a 4"-6" duct with a small inline fan to circulate the air between the two tents, one for in and one for out. Then get yourself a single dehumidifier and it should work for you. Make sure the dehumidifier can handle the space in both tents. Good luck.

If your tents are too far to be connected then this may not be an option.

Yeah, they are in different rooms definitely not an option atm.

If you are anywhere in the South or Southwestern U.S., humidity levels have really jumped in the entire region in the last couple of days. So the humidity increase you are seeing could be the weather and not your design.

BTW - I'd change your light vents so they are sucking instead of pushing air. I had mine pushing, same as you have, and the flex duct failed (just tore apart) in the cab so it was pushing hot air from the light into the cab. Pretty much cooked that crop.

That would suck... I will switch that next run for sure.

I'm thinking I'm going to have to suck it up and get a dehumdifier of some sort, and try and move both tents into the same room (assuming I don't move and get a better place, which should hopefully happen..)

What do you guys think of this; think it would do the trick for a 4x4 or 5x5?
