What a two weeks it has been for me. No power, no water, no nothing. Living like real rednecks down here in the south U.S. The damage was unbelievable, everything is torn up, everything.
I rode out the storm at a friends house, and it was real hairy, we were daring each other to see how far down the street we could run, he turned back before he even got in the street, I went on out and got hit in the leg by a piece of pizza hut, and hit in the head by a piece of roof, I was o.k. and laughing the whole way back.
Before it got real bad I noticed my shed door was ripped off, damn, I thought, that is going to be a pain in the butt to put that door back on, by the end, there was not even a shed to fix.
I have no plants right now, I took electricity for granted, hope to get going again soon, all the cleanup and things are going real slow. Here is a breakdown of my city as best I can tell:
75% have a tree through their roof.
30% have multiple trees on their house (one lady had 8).
100% have trees down in their yard.
100% have shingles or parts of roof blown off.
we got a generator, but the gas lines are hell, you got to be crazy to skip in line at the gas pump, but people do it, and I feel bad for those people, one guy got ripped from his car after butting in line and refusing to leave. We wait in the 100 degree sun for hours, the lines are sometimes 1/2 a mile long, and they expect to just jump on in?
I caught some looters too! We all sleep outside in tents, and I heard some in the shopping center across the way, they were just being as loud as they could be, so I snuck over there in the dark, with a spotlight and a co2 powered bb-gun, as I got up on them, I shined them and peppered them with bb's they dropped everything they had and took off running, I laughed at them as loud as I could, damn looters, they were stealing vcr's and tv's not food and water, so I had to regulate.
Haven't seen TV in 2 weeks, but heard things were getting hairy down in new orleans, god bless them all.
I will be back with some pics, when I sort through the incriminating ones, I will show you all what I have been going through.
Peace to all, glad to be back!
