Yeah, I'm thinking that LE could use this info to do a FLIR, then a knock and talk, then a LEO's "word" on "smell" (there is none), then...well, you know...All I can tell you is if this did happen, it's not grounds for a warrant but your personal information WOULD be given the the local drug task force and they would be keeping an eye on you.

"So, Mr. Hypothetical's fun is hypothetically over."
that sounds about right. apartment growers are infamouse for once-a-year moving.. some even move after a crop or two. every 6 months, etc.
a run-in with Johney-Law moveing is the best. although drug taskforces are overwhelmed, its better to be a live chiken then a dead duck.
unless u own then u might have a time of it.

_Dude said:Say you're driving home with 4 grow lights, a couple of Dayton blowers, some pumps, and a box full of miscellaneous electrical devices, and you're pulled over. The cops make a bunch of pointed remarks about the penalties for growing, the uses of HID lights, make you state your address to make a point that they know where you live, etc., write you a ticket, and go on their way.
You have no grow ongoing, just two mothers, and some clones rooting. You toss the clones and make preparations to send a cutting into safekeeping before tossing the moms out too.
What would you do? Anybody have some legal precedents to share? The standard paranoid rants aren't very helpful - hypothetical guy need concrete info:
How long should one expect the cops to keep any investigation open, assuming one gets opened (no doubt that the hypothetical driver is now in police files, which are no doubt passed on to the feds)?
What are the probable cause and/or warrant implications? (Hypothetical guy lives in a southeastern, Law and Order state and isn't confident in any of the high-flying legal antics typical of states like CA or NY working in his neck of the woods)
Please, hard info - similar personal experiences, or legal precedent - no speculation.
