I did a search and found that Hyperspectral imaging hasn't really been discussed at all here. Here is a study specfically on detecting Cannabis with this technology.
What do you guys think? Any one work in a related field that can give us more input?
which prompted me to respond, their study seemed pretty ship shod and no definitive results, I guess nothing can outdo a seasoned pilot with time and experience
hyperspectral analysis sounds familiar. think its been talked about. something about the color of cannabis and how light is reflected or some stuff. i aint worried as i dont grow fields worth
well, the thing about spectral imaging is that it can do more than detect fields, it can isolate and identify marijuana being grown among other crops with similar imaging signatures as is often done to hide it
these people are lunatics wasting money on this kind of stuff when people are literally in the street homeless and jobless. total madness to spend those kind of resources going after someone who hides a few plants in a corn field. don't tell me this crap is needed for the big cartel ops, because it's not. this is what they use to see 1 plant growing in amongst your tomatoes, total police state tactics, way overkill, mega invasion of privacy.
I agree it's bullshit 100%, but the study I referenced they got funded by the National Guard Bureau Counter Drug Office, which I had never even heard of before. So, if you are doing research and want to have a job, you seek funding where it is available and as fear mongering politicians have done a good job convincing the populace that this is a scourge that needs to be eliminated, budgets get pumped up and gives these guys something to do, better than kicking down doors in Falluja, plants don't shoot back.
